Windows installation and configuration

  1. Hello, Still testing this great app, but I have a question: I can select te services I want to monitor, but how do I get a warning/notification when a service is down? When I do a test on (for example) DHCP service, I can start and stop is via webUI and iPhone, but when it is not running (as a test) we don't get a warning of notification. Is this possible to configure? Many thanks Kurt

Hi My pc monitor agents are running an older version, even though the auto updater is checked. I have several agents running on different servers, is there a way to get the agents all updated at once? Is there a way to manually go into the agents and tell it to update? Thanks

I somehow downloaded and installed the 4.02 version of the agent. Now when I try to "Edit computer Settings" from the Dashboard it tells me I have the incorrect version and that I should upgrade. My question is can I just run the newer version on this server while I leave the 4.02 version on it or do I have to uninstall the old first?

I have using Pulseway to monitor 40 servers, most of them are HP Proliant. One of my big issues for 3 years old server is the hard drive fails. Does Pulseway support monitoing Raid status so that I can net notice/warning when HDD failing. If so, how to set it up?

  7. We have recently upgraded the SSL certificates on our servers to SHA-2 256 and this might cause a connectivity issue for some Windows 2003 servers. To resolve this issue please install the following hotfix (you will need a Microsoft account): https://support.microsoft.com/kb/968730 You can also download the hotfix for the (English only) directly here: Windows Server 2003 (x86, English) http://hotfixv4.microsoft.com/Windows%20Server%202003/sp3/Fix262679/3790/free/375510_ENU_i386_zip.exe Windows Server 2003 (x64, English) http://hotfixv4.microsoft.com/Windows%20Server%202003/sp3/Fix262679/3790/free/375531_ENU_x64_zip.exe Windows XP (x86, English) …

Hello, We have noticed a possible issue on 2012 server Non R2. Firstly Asset info is not available, but more importantly The cpu can spike upto 50% on the server when making the request and then closing the app on my phone. Also a client was having performance issues with a database application and once pulseway was removed the performance issues have gone. We have 4 monitored 2012 standard servers that all seem to show similar oddities with pulseway. They are all HP Proliants All our 2012 R2 servers are fine. Anyone else seeing this?

  9. Hi I'm experiencing a problem after installation of the agent on some Windows Server 2008 R2 servers. After installation and configuration of the agent, when the service starts, it'll begin hogging all available resources on the CPU until the service/process i restarted. After this, the agent appears to run normally for at time, but then after an couple of hours it'll begin to use all available CPU again. The agent is configured to monitor processor, RAM and storage (General health), and then we have 2 performance counters for more advanced processor and RAM monitoring I also installed the same agent, with the same configuration on an Windows Server 2003 …

  10. I recently upgraded my system from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 10 Pro and the service for PW ("PC Monitor" to be specific) no longer starts on its own. I have a backup of starting the service manually if it is not running each time I log in or every morning if system is already logged in. Another issue with Windows 10 is the UAC for starting services which is another issue all together. Why is the service no longer able to start on its own. I can go into the services.msc and start it manually.

  11. Hello, I've been using Pulseway (PC Monitor) for years and love the app. I just went from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and I find Pulseway is not allowing me to remote start. Also, after a startup, it doesn't notify me that it's up and running. If I go into my app on my phone, it shows it's up and running. If I send a test notification from the PC, it notifies my phone. I have the power setting set for Turn on fast startup is OFF. I also tried the delayed start and that caused it to not start the service at all. Everything worked perfectly in Windows 7. I also ran the compatibility auto checker and it set it for Windows 8. The app allows me to shut down the PC with no…

  12. Hi, Long time user just for my home systems and just built a new gaming rig and installed Pulseway and as per the title am unable to set a notification for any hardware monitoring on the CPU, which is an I7 6700k ? I've installed Pulseway and rebooted but no joy? Running on Windows 8.1 Pro adn when viewing the new device in Pulseway monitoring it show the CPU usage (%) and the BIOS version etc. but unable to add the notifications? I know both the Motherboard (MSI Z170 M7) and CPU (Intel i7 6700k Skylake) are very new, so is it just an update of Pulseway needed or am I missing something ?

Hey guys, Almost at the end of my trial period and liking almost everything I see so far, with two nitpicks. One is the lack of file transfer, but I'm told that's "on the roadmap." The other is "unattended installation." To me "unattended" means someone just has to run an executable and it works. For example, I'm coming from Meraki Systems Manager. They produce an installer that is account specific, so I just need the person at the remote machine to download and run that file, hit next next next, and then the agent checks in with home base. The user doesn't need to know anything about anything. Most of my user base is spread very far apart, with one or maybe two…

Hi, I'm trying to setup pulseway to monitor a UNC path and when that path is no longer available to send me a notification. The problem is that I CANNOT ping the path due to security reasons so I will have to use UDP to watch the path. I cannot find where to do this. Ive tried the ping options with no luck. Any ideas will greatly be appreciated. Thank You Tony

Hello, I have reinstalled my server. When logging in I get the following error: There was no endpoint listening at https://xxxxxxxxxx/WebApp.svc that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details. What can be the reason? Windows Server 2012 R2 SQL Express 2012

  16. Hi Is it possible to install the Pulseway manager without installing the agent. Would like to use the Manager on a laptop that doesn't need to be monitored, allowing me to change the config of agents on remote PCs.

  17. Hi There We updated our Thawte certificate and applied the update to our dedicated pulseway server. We have a 2008 server that goes offline when applying the new cert, when we switch back to the old cert the server comes back online. We have an environment with over 70 Servers and this Windows 2008 enterprise server is the only one that gives us the following error when validating its credentials. Please advise what steps to follow? We have checked time and date settings, ensured machine is up to date. All the best, Thomas

Hi, I am testing Pulseway and have deployed a few agents, all good. One of the agents I have configured as a discovery probe, all good. The probe has located a number but not all of the computers on the LAN. At another site the probe is not locating ANY other computers on the LAN. Any ideas as to what may be causing this?

Hello, after installing Pulseway Agent on a Server I got following message when registering the machine: There was no endpoint listening at https://ourcompany.pulseway.com/Server.svc ...... There are other servers in the network where the installation did work without any problem. I have set proxy settings, without any success. I already uninstalled, rebooted and checked if a firewall blocks the traffic. no changes... Any hints on that? Thanks and regards Roland

Hi there, We've recently set up Policies to use on all of our servers. We have nightly/weekly reboots on some of the servers within each group. We would like to know if there's a way to have Maintenance windows on a server level basis? Not all servers in a group are rebooted at the same time each week so we wouldn't want to miss any notifications. Thanks in advance

If I use Group Policy to push out a configuration change to PCM clients via registry, does PCM automatically start using the new configuration, or do I need to bump the PCM service, or open & close the GUI?
