General discussions about using Pulseway

  1. Started by Gary Haberl,

Hi, I see we can share computers between logins for Pulseway RMM. Groups and Tags are also shared between users. How can we share scripts and other items? I have been putting in Scripts for everyone to use, but I am the only person who can see them. We have 4 techs at this point, do we need to add the script 4 times in the RMM? The only solution I can thin of is to have everyone login into the RMM as the same user, so we can all share everything. Gary

  2. Hi, Years ago when I first setup Pulseway there was an issue highlighted on the forums with servers and hard disk monitoring. It was advised at the time that you should disable this feature otherwise the HDD will get hammered with requests. I cant remember the actual reason in the forum post, but wondered if there we still known issues with having this enabled on production servers?

Hi there and sorry if this has been brought up before but I can't seem to find any answer. So I'm really just wanting to be able to see what "Applications" are being used on remote PC's I can see "Processes" but there are usually SO many! Is there any way Pulseway can be configured to show "Applications" open and how would I do that? It seems like Pulseway can report so much other information this should be something quite straight forward? Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Cheers Andrew

  4. Good morning, we use Pulseway for our customers, they are then billed by us per server and per client. Is there an easy way to see which customer has how many servers and how many clients?

  5. Currently we are using your paid service and are monitoring at least 20 servers (from memory). An employee of ours has left and the new employee with his new phone needs notifications sent to his phone. He is running PCmonitor on the phone obviously. Can't for the life of me remember where to set email notifications and their delivery address(es)

Our Pulseway instance has been incredibly slow to load, through Remote Control client and the Web UI. Actions take several seconds, sometimes up to a minute to perform. It has been happening intermittently over the past couple of weeks, but today is especially noticeable. Is anybody else experiencing this? I've tried two different ISPs and experiencing the same issue on both.

Hi all, Have to say, Pulseway is a fantastic product and it exactly the type of tool we need to monitor the health of PCs based nationally. I do have one small issue though. If a PC is on and a user logged in, I'm able to connect remotely. If a login is required, the remote session stalls then fails. Is this fixable in the client configuration?

I am new to SNMP and I'm having a little trouble getting set up. I understand that SNMP works by trapping signals sent from the Agent and they are sent to the Master. I don't see any 'trapping" in the Pulseway set up. I have successfully discovered a test device and have been able to pull up the MIB/OID list. This list however makes very little sense to me as it doesn't explain what I am trying to monitor. Could somebody give me some depth in this subject. What is Pulseway monitoring exactly? How do i determine what the OID is? Is there any trapping actually going on? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks, Aaron

  9. Hello! I'm trying to monitor and display printer supply levels using SNMP. I have a Lexmark printer configured, but I can't see the supply levels as I can in another web tool I was using. I'd also like to know how to generate alerts for all my printer types for out-of-paper, paper jam, toner out, imaging unit out, etc.

  10. Seriously. This is getting old. You guys are constantly rolling out new features, but the basic stuff doesn't work. I think its time to start looking for a new RMM.

Thank you very much for producing a great product. As a home linux (Centos & FC15) user and I am using a free subscription and I have a couple of questions. During account creation using the pcmonitor-manager (and also with the text only version) I was having some problems setting up an email address. I have 2 domains that I use for email, and neither seem to be recognised as a valid email address, I ended up making up a gmail.com address to get round the problem. I can PM you with the email addresses I have tried. Is it possible to change the email address associated with my account, since I don't seem to be able to do this either in the iPad app or on…

I encourage all to advertise a little bit for PC monitor on e.g Facebook or linkedIn. The more users, the bigger community we can build, and great ideas are shared.

Hi, I've setup the SQL Server server module, using a specific user login (who I know has permissions, as tested and used when checking the query later). I've then setup a notification using it, based on a query. However when that runs I get told that "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM" can't access the database. This doesn't surprise me, but I don't understand why it's trying to connect as that, and not the user I set up. Any ideas? Thanks

From the March 10th update: PC Monitor Windows Agent and Android app updated to version 3.7 - XenServer module - SSL Certificates - Web Sites monitoring What does "SSL Certificates" refer to? My dream would be a warning say 30 days before an SSL is due to expire. Now that would be nice. I suspect it's not that, but if it was.... how do I set it?

does anyone know whether the status notifications can be changed to send as elevated rather than just normal? say if the public ip of a site changes (not ideal for a server, but what can you do while in contract and BT charge you to change to static) pc monitor does send a notification, but its not elevated so i dont see it unless i go into the server on the dashboard, could do with it grabbing my attention as things need to be changed asap. thanks gary

  20. I can't get in on the web app. Machines that are online in the mobile app are reporting as offline and nothing is connectable I have had this service for a year now and the service has been down about 6-8 times in the last year. I have to pay for a backup service that, in the same period, has been down 1 time for 1 hour I opened the ticket and all I have gotten is the automated response and that was 40 minutes ago. Chances of renewal dwindling fast!

  21. Hi all, we do apologise for the inconvenience and service disruption, our storage provider had to reschedule the data maintenance works last minute and some instances might get affected. Most of the functionality should be working as normal, while the online billing portal is expected to be down till the maintenance works are over. We do apologise for this inconvenience and service disruption. Moreover, we have officially taken a decision to switch the data providers and we are in the process of migrating to a new datacenter provider. We will be prioritising the customers who are expressing their concerns and would like to be moved first. Please mention this to your …

So i saw pulseway on linus tech tips and thought due to the number of machines i run headless good idea, only i am confused on the pricing. If i am reading it right its just 2 devices for free then you pay for each additional is this right, are there any low cost options for non-commercial use? And if i pay for anything will that mean i have to pay for the 2 original as well?

Hi First of all, great job!! These are the kind of apps that keep me going on in my work I was wondering, If I buy a 25 PC subscription and after a month I need to manage other 20 PCs (45 PCs in total) what can I do? do I have to buy another 25 PC subscription or a 50 PC subscription? Also, do the two subscriptions make a sum of PCs? ex. 25 + 50, 75 PC?. Sorry for my english (I'm writing from Italy, Rome) Hope it is not too confusing Thank you for your time. Daniele. Keep up the good work!
