Notifications

So the issue I'm having is with the mobile app on Android. I can log into the app and see notifications there, but I don't receive any notice through normal Android notifications. On the web client, I can see the device listed under Monitoring Devices with Push Notifications - No, but I cannot find where to enable this in the settings of the web app or mobile app!

Hi, I have an associated account and others get push notifications, but mine doesn't seem to. Are you able to assist?

Is there any better documentation on the Email Templates? I see this post https://www.pulseway.com/blog/customize-email-notifications-on-pulseway-enterprise but the only thing it can pull from Pulseway is $TAG_BODY$ and everythng else seems to be hard coded. Can I include other data from Pulseway in the emails (CPU Load, Free Space, IP address, ETC)? How do others use the template?

Hi, On the Android phone app I noticed a red exclamation balloons on all my servers. If I open the app and look at the notifications it lists each server as going offline at the same time, but back on the main page none of the servers are grayed out and I can view live settings such as CPU temperatures just fine. I did not receive any emails alerts or an alert in the top bar on the Android phone. All the servers seem to be fine as I can remotely access them. Should I ignore the messages and delete them? Any idea whats going on?

We've noticed a possible issue with local space monitoring. A server RAID controller went off-line(failed), the array disappeared, and we didn't get a notification of a disk space fault. Which is probably normal as the drive letter never hit our free space threshold. I was thinking of setting up a rule to monitor many drives and have it fall under 1 event. But performance counters seem to be based entirely on performance, and not appearance. Is there some place else where we can monitor local storage that turn up MIA?

My Kamailio has gone down twice in the last two weeks and i have not been getting notifications through Pulseway. Above is the Kamailio service in a running state and below is my configuration set up, for that service to be monitored. Any guidance in fixing this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hey forum, I recently had the whole thing running rather well in testing phase, so we decided to go for real. This meant getting different accounts to set the rights properly. This is what I did: puls.connect to connect the agents to the enterprise server. puls.adm to to manage everything (the only admin account). puls.myname to manage all the systems. puls.mycolleaguesname just like me. I linked all of the systems from connect to the others as associated accounts and gave all rights and notifications on. Here is the problem: I am getting almost no notifications whatsoever. We have 55 machines that are being monitored by pulseway for various things. Of the 55 I am only responsible for about 36 of them. In my system tray it only shows the 36 I'm managing, however I still get notifications for the other servers and another member of our team that is managing the other half still gets notifications when my machines go down. How can we make it so that we are not getting notifications for each others servers? Thanks, Aaron Trujillo

Hello forum, Lately I encountered a machine that couldn't monitor CPU-temp. There were just no devices in the hardware list when I tried to set the notification. The machine in question is an HP ProLiant DL380 G4 and the OS is installed directly on the machine, not using Hyper-V or similar software that could mess up these kind of sensors. Hello, For some weeks, when we receive an email notification concerning a user logged on a monitored ressource, the IP mentionned is always 127.0.0.1 instead of the user ip. I don't know why...I don't think to have make any change on local configuration and I don't find a specific setting to manage that... Do you have an idea or a way to investigate on this issue ? We are trialling on premise enterprise version. Is there any way we can have a custom email/push notification template at each site that includes the GROUP or Server name so we can feed it into our service desk and assign it to the correct technician?

Hello, At the moment I am working on setting up Pulseway for a lot of networks. I want to use SNMP to get a lot of data from the different devices in the network. Since we use a lot of the same devices I am already working on default files that I can use to configure the SNMP agents for NAS's, routers and other commonly used hardware. (Files that I only need to import and tweak to get the right values.) This is working properly. Here is the problem though: after importing the SNMP agents, I still need to configure all the notifications manually, and that takes even more time then setting up the SNMP agent in the first place. Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to get a notification if a file exceeds a certain file size. In my case I want to get an alert when a file or a folder exceeds 5 GB. Is that possible? I only found an option to either monitor the whole harddisk or get an alert when a file changes in size

Is it possible to setup a notification if a NT Service is not running after a period of time?

When I first setup my trial account a few weeks ago, I setup an offline notification for one of my PC's. This notification would alert me 15 mins after losing contact with the PC, and then every 10 mins thereafter. Sometime in the past week or so, this behavior has changed: It now sends one alert around 15 mins after contact, with no follow-up alerts. I can't find any documentation stating that this behavior should have changed, nor can I find any setting to revert back to the repeating alerts. Has this functionality been removed?

I am getting a Notification for low disk space from one server, where I have removed all configured Storage Notifications. This is on a Windows Server (2012 R2) I had two storage notifications set up. One for C: drive and one for E: drive. The E: drive one was set for notifying when storage dropped below 25%. I wanted to change that to "less than 10GB" so made that config change. However, I kept getting the Notification for "below 25%". I have now removed all Storage Notifications, and I'm still getting the "below 25%" notification. Is there a further 'clean out' that I can do to stop this 'phantom' notification? Cheers, Geoff.

Hi all, I've been a satisfied Pulseway user for a while but I have a question that's probably more related to my phone platform (Android 5.x) than Pulseway itself. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get any good ideas from folks on the Google forums, so I'm hoping a sysadmin or two here might have some usable suggestions. Been using Pulseway since it was PC-Monitor, for at least 3 years now. I noticed earlier this year (maybe about the time it was change to Pulseway) that notifications about my WINDOWS machine changed from being SMS alerts to my phone, to emails. I made no changes at all (in fact I haven't touched it since it was installed. It really is that good). I assumed this was a policy decision at Pulseway towers, and forgot about it. Been searching everywhere trying to figure out how the email notification feature works in PC monitor but I'm getting nothing. There are alot of info on how to set it up but no info how the actual email engine works? The reason I ask is because we've recently migrated our email server. I originally thought that PC monitor emails the mail server based on the MX record it gets when it polls the domain name of the email address that we specify (e.g. notification@domain.com) from the DNS server so we've update or internal MX record to point to the new exchange server and configured it as a whitelist on our receive connector but we are still not getting any email alerts. I'm going under notifications and Processes to create a process notification. When I click 'Add' and then 'Select from Running Processes' I only get a list of 4 processes. I'm using windows server 2012. Any idea what I might be missing here? What I'm trying to accomplish is: Whenever a specific application is off for about a minute, send an alert. The file can be in multiple locations, as it's location is based on the currently deployed version, so I can't monitor a specific file.

I used Pulseway for several years but until 2 years the notifications did not work. When i ask for a test notification i receive a push notification on my iPhone but when my computer starts or shutting down or entering in suspended mode or resumed for a suspended mode i don't receive any notification. Looking through the notification rules I don't see a method to monitor if a certain process stays at 0 CPU usage. I'd like to monitor if a certain program locks up, unfortunately when it locks up the Not Responding rule doesn't work.
