SNMP

SNMP server module

  1. Started by Marius,

SNMP Server module allows SNMP agent exploring, crawling for exposed variables, displaying real-time values on the mobile clients and monitoring variables for changes using configured rules. Agent discovery is supported, you click the “Run Discovery” button and watch how SNMP agents get added. Exporting and Importing is also possible to ease the process of configuration backup and migration. Send notifications when a selected SNMP agent variable value meets a certain condition:

It would be nice if Pulseway can monitor SNMP agents without setting up all OID's So that if you discover a device like a Synology NAS or HP ILO or Whatever it automatically starts pulling data form it. Like Observium does. So you can also get graphs / system info form it etc. This would be awesome!

Hello, I have a SNMP-xml configuration file, and I just want to edit the IP-address in the config, but I can’t import the file after editing it. Or is there another way to reuse the config file?

What is necessary if a device, for example a printer, has to be monitored and how can I connect the printer to the Pulseway

For what obscure and absurd reason it is not possible to add / modify SNMP monitoring fields remotely but only locally ???

  8. I'm having all sorts of issues trying to get SNMP monitoring to work. I can't get anything from our LSI 9271 RAID controllers, WatchGuard Firewalls, Dell Switches, APCUPSd, or SuperDoctor. I tried following the example for the RAID monitoring setup but get nowhere. A big question I have is should I have Windows SNMP both installed and should I have it configured? Are people using a different SNMP service besides Microsoft for SNMP v3? Does Discover not work is the devices are not SNMP v1 and set for public? Why no MIB import tool? Please help

  10. Hi, We have a network set up with security cameras and we'd like to use Pulseway to monitor the status of the cameras. We thought about using the ping tool but we are worried ping a large number of devices every 5 seconds could have negative effects on the network and/or switch the devices are on. Does anyone know of a way to use SNMP for this? I was going through the set up but couldnt figure out which OID to use. We are using the enterprise edition. Thanks, ~ Chris

I want to setup a SNMP notification for my canon printer. The "printer status" OID will show nothing when the printer is working and show a number if there is an error. I have no idea what each and every error might show up as. Is it possible to set the notification to alert me if that SNMP option changed from null to some number? Right now if I leave "value" blank I cannot click ok to finish.

When trying to crawl a mikrotik device we get this error: truncation error for 32-bit integer coding. This device is ok when we are crawling it with other software though..

I have been able to setup SNMP monitors using polling, but does pulseway have a trap listening function? If not, are there any recommended alternatives for plugins or 3rd party apps that can listen for trap messages and write to windows event logs or do some other kind of forwarding that will work with pulseway?

Hi, I'm looking for a script that lets me see the status of printers connected to the print server. Read the copies and the toner level. I thank anyone who can explain me how to do it.

Hello, At the moment I am working on setting up SNMP to monitor the amount of storage used on a Synology NAS. I am able to get the size and amount used with the hrStorageSize and hrStorageUsed (.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.5 & ....6) but it displays it as a "random" number. Of course this number is not random, it is expressed in hrStorageAlocationUnits (....4), which is expressed in bytes or kilobytes or something. What it waters down to is that the "random" number can be calculated into an normal number like gigabytes. How can I do this in Pulseway? I would like to hear from you as soon as possible. Thanks in advance, - Jaapyse

Hi there, I have just installed a nice new air conditioner in my server room which runs a pcoweb interface for network communication. I am now wanting to send SNMP traps to my pulseway server but have absolutely no idea how to get this to integrate with my pulseway system. I dont know if the configuration on my aircon is wrong of if my configuration on pulseway is wrong. Any help would be really appreciated please.

Hi, I have a UPS through which I power a NAS, 2 PC's and the router which they are all connected to. I have the USB cable from the UPS connected to the NAS, and can successfully cause the NAS to shutdown when a critical power alert is sent to the NAS. I have also set up the SNMP module in Pulseway to monitor the SNMP status of the NAS, which as well as the status of the disks and suchlike, can also show the status of the connected UPS. I have successfully caused the notification module in Pulseway to alert me when the UPS status changes, but I cannot see a way to make the SNMP module do anything other than cause notifications. What I would like to do is caus…
