I am trying to create a PowerShell script that will run DBCC checks on a SQL server and then report status back to Pulseway. I have a working script that I can run from the command line but the script will not run correctly when sent as a Pulseway script. Here are the details. The script fails because it is unable to authenticate to the SQL server. The SQL Server is running on the same machine as I am running the script on. Thus wil are not dealing with cross machine accounts. I have put debug code into the script and the account reported back by PowerShell is MACHINENAME$. The machine is in a domain and thus the script appears to be reporting back the machine …

Is there a way to prompt when a script is ran for input? Like say I make a script that changes the name of the computer, is it possible to make pulseway prompt for what you want the new system name to be? If I could figure this out it would be huge.

I've implemented a script that retrieves and stores the Windows Build Version number to a custom field in the system overview. It works fine on MOST systems. However, there are a small number systems that are unable to run the script. The error message displayed includes: Start-Process : This command cannot be run due to the error: The system cannot find the file specified. I've written a script that retrieves the application name, publisher and version from the registry entries located in "HKLM:\Software\MMSOFT Design\PC Monitor\InstalledApplicationsSnapshot". How can I make sure the software versions listed in this location are updated to the latest version of the applications installed? Is there a way to force update these records? Hi, We created a script which checks for Windows Updates, installs the updates, creates a report and reboots if necessary. This script runs in a single task and every system has it's own scheduled task. This script will download the small online installer, generate the silent install cfg file and run the installer. The timer near the end is set for 3 minutes as it has to download the full installer first and Java takes a while to install anyway. Small Correction: The scheduled task can be run on demand, but by default it restarts the pulseway service once a day at 11am, which in theory, should force it to check for updates. So one of the problems I ran into with pulseway is, sometimes I would want to restart the service. Doesn't really matter why, could be to get it to check for new updates to the pulseway agent and get them on the latest version. Windows will sometimes refuse to start non-critical services on boot (eg. Pulseway), when resources are low. I've noticed a few Win7 machines have run for weeks without Pulseway being allowed to start. As the powershell cmdlet "Set-Service –Name –Computer -StartupType" doesn't seem to allow delayed-start, I'm using this script as a work-around. You'll need to manually stop the service before running this script and then manually re-start it afterwards.
