  1. Started by wpatterson,

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but I'm unable to scroll on Notifications... so if the notification is an event log alert, and I check it from my phone I only get the first few lines and am unable to move the message up or down to see the rest.. If I view the same message from my tablet, I can see more of the message .. but again .. can't scroll up or down if the message is longer than the resolution of the device. Thoughts?

hi Guys, I'm loving this software! But i have a few minor issues... Last night I enabled Notification of Logon and Logoffs... After a few Windows RDP sessions to the computers and "X'ing" out of the rdp session (I need them to stay logged in)..I am now receiving random notifications of that "The administrator" logged in... and the administrator logged off... These notification are very random... So now I have to just leave that notification off for now. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix? Am I doing something wrong? Please advise. Thank you!

  3. Hello, Want to start off by saying, I love your product! I have upgraded my laptop and desktop to the new 2.7.1 and love that it’s going to be auto updated. One thing I am seeing that I have not seen in past release is the dashboard sometimes is unresponsive and does not respond to anything. The icon is setting on the task bar but if you click it or hover it, it does not respond to trying to maximize by clicking or by right clicking and maximizing or right clicking and close. I have to open task manager and kill the Dashboard.exe and relaunch the application. I have seen this on my laptop and desktop but have not figured out if it’s something I am doing or if it

Hello, During the day I have a regular server (Microsoft Hyper-V 2008 R2 64) is offline for a moment. Meanwhile the servers running in Hyper-V are online. I uninstalled PCM 64 and I've reinstalled it fixes the problem. Thank you for your help.

  5. Hi, I have a small bug that is getting annoying: When all servers are showing offline, I get random messages telling me that the servers are "up and running" - which is great, except all 23 servers tell me this a minute after each other at 3am Is there a way to turn off the alert that simply says "[server] is up and running"? I still want to receive messages that tell me the server is shutting down or starting up. Thanks, Vince

Hi I've the PC Service running on a windows server 2003 SP2. When a process goes crazy and starts using the whole CPU, I receive a warning notification. (Which is good) After a few minutes with the 100% CPU, the PC Service stops updating. Then the server is listed as offline in the PC Monitor in my windows phone. Since the server is listed as offline, I can not kill the crazy process. I have to login with remote desktop. After a I kill the crazy process, the PC Sevice starts working again. Can this be fixed? Thanks, Marco

Hi - Since upgrading my laptop from 2.5 to 2.6.1 beta and then 2.6.2 beta, I'm finding my HP laptop's fan(s) are permanently stuck on full - even after a reboot I've gone now gone back to 2.5 to see if this fixes it -Tom

In Desktop 2.7 or Manager 2.7, create or edit an Event Log Notifications. Grab a corner of the dialog box and gradually make it smaller, watching what happens as you do so.

  9. Started by JeffVandervoort,

Coulda sworn I'd posted this a long time ago, but I guess not. On a WS2008 R2 Core machine, when you click Import or Export, PC Monitor Manager vomits forth the .Net message at the end of this post. (Gee, .Net, are you sure this is ALL that's wrong??) Thus it's not possible to import or export with a Core box. Now, I'm no .Net expert, but I know there's no such thing as a Vista common dialog in Core! See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80040111): Creating an instance of the COM component with …

Howdy folks. I've been successfully monitoring two of my PCs until recently with v2.6 on my iPhone. Lately, though, one of the PCs shows up as online in the iPhone app, but when I select it, no system details are populated. The second PC works fine still. Any ideas? Reinstalling the desktop application seemed to fix it.

  11. Started by RioMinistry,

I have the software installed on my iPod and it was working fine yesterday. Today when connecting to the PC, I get this error. I have re-newed my password on the desktop and had the password reset and created a new password... still the same error on the iPod, however I can login from my phone with no problems. The funny this is that I get the notifications on the iPod, but I can't login to see the servers.

I've noticed my external USB hard drive won't spin down (go idle) as long as the PC Monitor service is running. I've confirmed this by stopping the service and see the drive spin down after a short time. After restarting the service, the drive spins up and remains active. Can this be changed?

  13. This is more annoying than anything. I've been using PC Monitor for a few weeks now and have been pretty impressed with it's usefulness so far. One thing that is nagging me is that randomly throughout the day any of my currently 24 monitored servers may show that it is offline. Obviously I wouldn't be writing if this were the case. Actually as I was typing this they all disappeared from my PCM Dashboard and then just showed back up a few seconds later. I am the Infrastructure Manager here so I would know if we were having any network connectivity problems and certainly if a server were actually offline. No "server offline" tickets are filed by MPCM support emails so I ass…

When I tap the "More" label 10-15 times to go back through the Event logs and open 2 or 3 Events to read them, when I close the 2nd or 3rd Event, I lose perhaps half of the Event list and have to tap "More" again to get back to where I was.

  15. Hi I think there's a bug in PC monitor for Linux which means that it cannot wake other machines up using Wake On Lan. Any requests it processes fail with an error in pcmonitor.log: 03/11/2011 12:56:20.000424 - ERROR - Invalid mac received. Do you know if it's possible to get this working? A bit more info about my setup and testing: I have three computers on my network, two Windows 7 machines and an Ubuntu 11.10 headless server, all running the latest versions of your pc monitor software for their respective platforms. They are directly connected to a modem/router via gigabit Ethernet. The router also has wireless capability. I also have an Android ph…

  17. Started by JeffVandervoort,

PC Monitor agent 2.5 beta 5 I have an Event Log monitor that notifies me if it finds an Application event from source "Backup" of level "Error". There are a few in the log, the last occuring 30 Sep 2011. However, PC Monitor has sent me 3-4 Notifications AFTER that last event. The latest bogus notification was at 2:07AM this morning, and I realized from the Notification details that it was actually reporting an Event that occured 6 Sep 2011; currently, the first such event in the log. I did not record which Events the prior Notifications were reporting, but I do know there were no Events coincident with the Notifications.

  18. Started by william.abbo,

This morning I had a internet connection outage for about 1 hour. PCMonitor notified me of this on my Iphone and Ipad, so far so good. After the internet connection restored both servers stay'd off-line on the PCmonitor Dashboard, Iphone and Ipad. I restarted the PCmonitor service on both servers, without result. A reboot of both servers solved the message for just one server, that other server still shows a off-line condition, although it is connected to the internet. Both servers running Server 2008 R2 with all update's installed, also running the latest version PCmonitor.

  19. Started by JeffVandervoort,

The PC Monitor agent does not start automatically after it is installed. You've agreed elsewhere that PC Monitor installation isn't yet enterprise-friendly, but the impact of this is that even after installing by GPSI, we have to come up with a method to launch the service. If it's a bug, fixing it would be one step closer to being enterprise-ready. If this is by design, is there a way to make the service launch with an MST file?

  20. Started by JeffVandervoort,

In this system, (all Win 6.1) we redirect ALL possible folders, including Start Menu. It appears that the PC Monitor Start Menu shortcut is machine specific. When I launch PC Monitor from the shortcut on any machine other than the one on which the shortcut was originally installed, I get this error: [Window Title] Problem with Shortcut [Content] The parameter is incorrect. [OK] I suspect the same problem will occur if you DON'T redirect folders but DO use roaming profiles...but I haven't tested that. Probably the best and easiest fix: Install the shortcut to the All Users Start Menu.
