General discussions about using Pulseway

  1. Started by Jacob Johnson,

I am curious if there is a simple log/report for a machine in Pulseway that shows if and when the agent for a particular machine is disconnected or not reporting back to the server. I am trouble shooting some outage notifications that are happing in a separate system (Uptime Robot). I have seen a couple of the machine reporting offline in Pulseway but still accessible depending on the ISP. I think the disconnects are brief in nature. I am not saying this is a Pulseway problem but the logs of agent connectivity would help with cause and correlation investigations. Thanks in advance for your responses. -Jacob

Hi Pulseway, I'm a noob using this platform and still finding my way around navigating and familiarizing in its functions. With that said, is there a way to tag machines to specific users and do a search using their name instead of the computer hostname? I find it easier to search via name when a customer contacts us just like in our previous RMM tool. Thanks in advance

Hello, I see a restart option but I don't see restart PC option in safe mode when I'm in details of one of the monitored computers (using my.pulseway.com). Does this feature exist or if not will it be implemented soon? Thank you, Serge

  5. Bring IT Documentation in your daily workflow through the IT Glue integration. Within the system details screen you can now access asset information, related documents, and related passwords for the matching IT Glue configuration.

  6. We are busy setting up the integration between Pulseway and Autotask. When signed into the server, opening Pulseway Manager 8.50, and going to Settings>Autotask we can enable the Autotask integration and enter the credentials for the account. After that the Account and Queue dropdowns become available with the company and the queue that the tickets needs to go to and this works as expected. With the amount of servers that we manage we want to roll this setting out using endpoint policies. We go to the webapp, create a policy, go to other settings, select Autotask. After we entered the same credentials as we did in Pulseway Manager the dropdown menu's don't…

  8. On 64bit Windows there can be both 64bit performance counters and 32bit. Some applications will record metrics in one or the other bit space. On a 64bit OS, you can access the 32bit counters by using "mmc /32 perfmon.msc". Can 64bit Pulseway access 32bit counters (and 64bit?) for monitoring and alerting or is the only option to run 32bit Pulseway? Thank you.

First time needing to do this, but we have sensitive data in the portal we want removed I do not see any obvious way to clear archived notifications from our portal, would have thought this would be under Server Admin Settings. @Paul assuming I'm missing something obvious here?

  10. Trying to install Pulseway on my Windows laptop, gets an error saying the MSI is not found? I have downloaded the MSI file several times to my downloads area, and run it from there. I get the following error.

Hi, I have a Pulseway free account. Recently I added a new user account to my main Windows 11 PC. This PC has two users with the Pulseway application installed on both. I also have another system being used as a home media server and this has Pulseway installed. For some reason, Pulseway thinks I have three registered systems on my account even though the account itself only shows two systems. Please could someone explain why this is happening. Is this a bug?

Hi, Has there been any discussion on whether its possible to use Pulseway to prevent devices from upgrading to W11? I can't find anything in the forums. Is anyone using pulseway to manage this update and if so how are you going about it? We're on day 1 of considering this so way behind where we need to be. We have a large proportion registered in intune so we can manage those devices in there. But we also have a lot of standalone devices and pulseway may be our best bet. thanks

Hello all, I am new here and I do not know is this the right place to ask this query here or not but I hope I will get a positive response, I have a WordPress blog that is hosted on the well know hosting service provider. For the last few month i am facing a slow page and 500 internal server errors, this will affect the traffic and ranking of my blog, and now i am thinking to change the hosting provider, can anyone suggest me any other best-hosting provider? Thank you

  14. Remote Login for Windows Remotely login into monitored systems through the Pulseway ecosystem without disclosing credentials to people in front of the computer. This feature can be enabled from endpoint policies or locally on each system. Allow End-Users to Disable Remote Control Within an endpoint policy, once you enable the system tray icon for end-users, you can now also enable the option to locally disable remote control on each system from within the system tray context menu. …

Someone changed the windows password for the local administrator account on a stand alone machine and decided to not write it down!!! Luckily I had my fantastic PCMonitor installed! I tried doing this using dsmod and going crazy trying to find it then looked into powershell but both were very difficult to use to do this and did not work. Again this is a local account and not in AD. Then I tried the following at the command shell: net user administrator Password1 and the password was changed! It would be nice if we could have an interface to change user passwords though... :-)

Can someone please explain what the "System Description Contains" filtering option does when creating new Scopes? Does this allow you to filter by Computer Descripton? or something else entirely? Thanks.

Is there a way to easily check which tasks and scripts have ran for the past xx days with its status for a particular machine? I would have expected to find it when selecting the machine amongst all the other information Instead we have to go to Tasks , and then Execution History, but it is per task, and there could be hundred of executions for that task, and we need to open then one by one to find the desired machine. Not easy Basically, very quickly, we want to check what has ran or not, and if the tasks were successful Thanks

Hi. We now have various systems running the upgrade to Windows 11. Despite the global rule 21H2 --> Don´t Install Can someone please send (urgently) clear, complete instructions what to do, how? Group policy is out of the question as some devices are running as workstations. I hope someone from the tech team will take care of this entry. And no, users did not click "Update".

Hi there, I've recently started using pulseway again after mostly phasing it out of my use in my home environment. I'm aware that you've changed policy and now no longer have a free tier, although users who previously signed up still have access. I would like to know about the process of converting my existing free tier account over to a paid account as i've already hit the limit of two endpoints again which stopped me from fully adopting pulseway the first time around. Looking at the pricing it seems you have a flat fee rather than a per-endpoint. What is the total number of endpoints included in that plan? And how would I go about transitioning my account…

Is there a way to display time stamps on reports? For instance, when running the the CPU use report - the graphs is great and all, but it would be nice to have some more data like time of day. Or maybe at least can I find out when the agent polls the server?

  24. Due to an issue this month with the Windows updates on some domain controllers I would like to pause (skip) the scheduled updates I have set in Pulsway this month. I assume I could just change the scheduled time to next month but would be way simpler to just be able to click pause. Is there a pause option? Do i need to change the scheduled time of the update or is there a better way? Cheers :-)

  25. You can now discover computers from Active Directory through the Discovery & Deployment probes if they are a domain member. Additionally, you can now deploy the Pulseway Windows Agent through Group Policy Objects for all domain-joined computers or for just a selection of Organizational Units. This will automatically enrol newly added computers in Active Directory to Pulseway and place them in the correct Agent Group which in turn will apply the endpoint monitoring policies, optionally install an antivirus product, and start managing operating system and 3rd party patches too.
