Linux installation and configuration

  1. Good Afternoon, We have been using your pulse way product on windows machines for a few years now and are very impressed with it, as it’s been a life saver many of times. This week I have tried implementing the monitoring agent on one of our Ubuntu 12.04 LTS boxes which are running a big data platform powered by HPCC Systems. I have pretty much configured it so it will tell me if drive space is low, CPU usage is high, free memory is low, whether the machine is off or on etc., but I am having problems getting it to tell me of these services HPCC components are running : mydafilesrv mydali mydfuserver myec…

Hi! Some of our newer native Linux client are having trouble registering with our server. 3. I have installed Pulseway on my unraid server and it has ben working great. I can monitor everything and shutdown/restart the machine. However, wake on lan is not working at all. I have enabled it in the BIOS and in the OS. I can wake the machine using my router, but not with the Pulseway app. In the config.xml file I have WoWAN set to true and the port to 9 (also tried 50000) and it still doesn't work. Is there something I am missing? P.S. I also have a Windows machine that has WOW working perfectly. Thank you for your help.

  4. Hello All, This morning I discovered Pulseway. This product might be the solution to a number of "issues" I have. I have a home media server running Ubuntu 12.0, along with a Win 8.1 laptop and a Win 7 desktop. I've successfully installed agents on all three. In my linux server, I have a total of one system disk and three data disks. All four appear when I access the server in the "mypulseway.com" web browser. However in the Windows 8 application, it only shows one of the three data disks. Is there any way to correct this?

Is there a way to install pc monitor on Raspberry Pi running Openelec? I can connect to the Raspberry pi via ssh but commands are limited. There’s no dpkg command nor does apt-get work. Best option of course would be a normal xbmc add-on support. Would that be possible?

  11. What would be the best practice for installing the agent on a virtual Linux machine where I don't have root access? The server is managed at/by cloudways.com Their support is phenomenal, I can always direct them to install for me (but then I would have to give them my account password) For the most part I would just need to monitor a running instance of Laravel (web framework) on Apache and MySQL (i saw MySQL monitoring is currently in the works) Would the API be a better solution for this case? Any thoughts appreciated.

  12. I've installed Pulseway (4.8 agent) on my Raspberry Pi B+. In the syslog, I am seeing these messages repeated every 15 seconds: Oct 1 09:31:00 pidp8 pulseway: free_percentage 82 Oct 1 09:31:15 pidp8 pulseway: free_percentage 82 Oct 1 09:31:30 pidp8 pulseway: free_percentage 82 I have all the syslog stuff in config.xml set to Disabled="false". On my Ubuntu box (also running the 4.8 agent) I'm not seeing these repeated space check messages. On both, I have the LowHDDSpace setting enabled: <LowHDDSpace> <Hdd Percentage="10" Path="/" Priority="0" Enabled="true"/> </LowHDDSpace> Is there a way I can stop these syslog messages?

It was in the previous version and it is something quite useful to me, if it is still there can you give me the command to re add it into my config file please?

I have a Ubuntu Linux machine that I have setup to monitor a number of network resources. One of the things I want to do is pick a few locations across VPN's to look for any latency issues. When I setup my config.xml with multiple servers, I only seem to look at the first server. Here is an example (IP's changed to protect the innocent): <!--Network--> <Network> <!--Ping - Server: server IP address or hostname--> <Ping Server="1.2.3.1" Enabled="true"/> <Ping Server="1.2.3.2" Enabled="true"/> <Ping Server="1.2.3.3" Enabled="true"/> <Ping Server="1.2.3.4…

Here is a copy of my current config section. 17. Seems like the package for archlinux is broken. The package manger will refuse to install binaries outside of bin, and will not follow symbolic links. I searched the forum recommending to use the --force option, but this option has also been deprecated in favor of the --overwrite flag, which does not resolve the issue with your packaging. Can we get an updated package, please?

Hi I've been using Pulseway on Windows for some time now and it's great. I now have a Raspberry Pi that I'm using to run my Domoticz home automation system, and want to use Pulseway to monitor that too. I have Pulseway installed on the Pi and it's working fine, but I can't quite figure out how to setup monitoring of the Domoticz process correctly. The Domoticz service is started using the command: sudo service domoticz.sh start The process it runs is (from a ps -ef ): /domoticz/domoticz -daemon -www 8089 -log /domoticz/domoticz.log I've set this up in the config.xml, but am not entirely sure what to put for the following parameters: IsDaemon - NONE, SYSVINIT, U…

Hi I run Domoticz on a Raspberry Pi and have this successfully being monitored by Pulseway. I am now also using the BA-Bridge software which runs as a java process. Can anyone tell me how to configure Pulseway to monitor this and be able to re-start it if it should fail? The process is started by having /etc/rc.local call a script that does this: nohup java -jar -Dserver.port=8090 -Dconfig.file=/home/pi/habridge/habridge.config /home/pi/habridge/ha-bridge-3.5.1.jar > /home/pi/habridge/habridge-log.txt 2>&1 & Thanks
