I have installed PC monitor on two linux machines (Ubuntu 11.04) and the program appears to be using a huge amount of memory, between 200MB and 400MB as measured with top, htop and ps. Is this normal? Can it be configured to use less memory? Niall

Hi, I did a search and this topic has not been asked before. Anyway, what is the difference between shutdown and power off options on PC Monitor? Aren't they the same? I always use the Shutdown option. I haven' t tried the Power off option. If I choose the Power off option, will I still be able to turn on the computer remotely. I know I can with the Shutdown option but how about the Power off option. Regards, Elos

So, Wake on Lan seems to work as my machine wakes up (being sent from iPhone, outside of network). However, I still get a "failure" notice and then my machine wakes up. Is this a bug, or something else I may have configured wrong. I did change the port from the default "9" to something else in your system settings. Is it possibly also trying to ping old port settings? Just want to make sure my installation is secure. Thanks.

I have a batch script I run from the command line on my machine that does some dsquery & dsmod statements. When logged in as myself, it runs fine. When executed remotely from Terminal, it says the account does not have permission to execute. I know it's possible to do this because my install on my previous machine did it without hesitation. What user account does the software use to execute Terminal commands? Or how can I force the app to use my account?

Hi guys, so, i've installed PCM on my Ubuntu Server (10.10) along with a peerguardian-type software called MoBlock http://moblock-deb.sourceforge.net/. So, after i start MoBlock, i get the notification on my phone saying the server is now offline. I can still see my CPU usage and Memory Usage via my Android phone, but it insists that the server is offline. I'm just wondering what do i need to tell MoBlock to allow PC Monitor's notifications to talk between my devices? Please advise. Thank you.

Hi, Is it possible to execute / run .msi files via the web or iphone app? I have a new machine with PC Monitor installed and now I need remote access to the machine. We use ScreenConnect and I have the .msi installer file on the remote PC but now need it to run to install it. This is a remote PC with no one at the site to run the installer fo rme. Last night i setup my pc and my pc monitor android app to work over the internet and 3g. Last nite it worked flawlessly but this morning it would not wake up my home pc. I kept getting network offline error. I came home from work, booted up my pc and boom! it worked. Why is it inconsistent? I have port 9 udp forwared an im running windowd 7 ultimate with a netopia 3347-02 router/modem with att dsl. I am also using a dyndns static ip updater as well. Thanks for any help

As a test I've installed the client service on an eee netbook running Windows XP Home SP3. A few times a minute, there is a an application log information event from PC Monitor "PowerEvent handled successfully by the service". Timing is random - between events I've seen as few as 6 seconds and as many as 30 or so, but it's at least twice per minute since I installed the service. I don't see these events on my other machines (Asus G73 notebook Win7 x64 and HP DL380G3 Win2003 Enterprise x32). It works great for installing critical & important updates. We run Windows 7 Pro on all of our computers and I was wondering if there is a way to install the optional windows updates as well? Hi, Is anyone using pcmonitor for checking if webservers are alive, something like open this url and expect this string returned? I'd also like to know if anyone has a way of checking if an IP is blacklisted? Ever since the IPhone update I haven't been able to look at screenshots of my computer. I am also unable to use the webcam function because niether of them show up on my phone menu. But on my laptop it says both are checked off. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi all, anyone knows a way to monitor if a ntbackup job runs succesfully or not? I monitored the sceduled tasks, but nothing happend if i stop the task or let him run into an error. greetz ROLS

1) Have been using MPCM for a couple of weeks now - great app. One of the machines I was monitoring had a disk crash. I've replaced it, but can't seem to get rid of that machine in my list of monitored machines ... please don't tell me I need to rebuild the machine, to uninstall the software to remove it from the list. 2) Even when I am not running the (Windows) Phone app, it seems to be polling the servers. Is this correct ? Is it continually running in the background ? Can this be disabled, or modified ? I don't want to be racking up data charges all the time ....
