Hyper-V

Hyper-V server module (Windows agent)

  1. Hello Pulseway Team, I noticed that the Clustered Shared Volumes feature was originally planned back in 2015 (see this forum post https://forum.pulseway.com/topic/1409-clustered-shared-volumes/). Can you provide some insight into why this feature was discontinued? Is there any chance it might be reconsidered in the future? This functionality would be very useful for many users, so I’d appreciate any clarification regarding its status. Thank you in advance for your response. Best regards, Martin

Is there anyway to setup a disk space notification for CSVs in a windows cluster? I can watch the C drive, but that doesn't alert of the shared volumes underneath.

  3. Hi Everyone i have been using Pulseway for a very long time now 2+ years, I formatted and installed the Pulseway Manager 9.3.2 again, and bunch of features are disabled any idea why? That was not the case before, you can clearly see the Hyper V role is installed and i have bunch of VMs running if they ever get stuck i would just do VM reboot from pulseway Hyper-V add on now not available

I am new to Pulseway and I am coming across a small issue. Currently I patch all my virtual machines on Saturday night and they reboot with no issue. Sunday's I want to patch the Physical Hosts and reboot them. In order to do this I have a Task that Shuts down all of my virtual machines 15 minutes prior to the patch schedule for the Physical servers. The problem that I am facing is that if there are no patches available or the patches don't require a reboot, then my virtual machines stay shutdown until I manually start them on Monday morning. Is there a more efficient way to do this? Are you manually patching your physical hosts instead of using a patch p…

  5. I'm running into an issue with Pulseway on my new Hyper-V server. I'm running Pulseway on the Hyper-V host, this works excellent, then when I installed my first VM, both Windows 2019 Server, this worked great aswell. Both are reporting in the app and on the web interface. But then when I added a second VM and installed the Pulseway Agent, it wouldn't show up in the app. Now I installed a third VM, thinking it might be some windows bug, but i'm running into the same issue. The only thing I see in the app is a notification that reads: There was an error retrieving the notification. When i look at the Sites > Configuration > Sites > G…

Hey guys, I'd like to get notfications when a virtual machine stops or the status changes. I use Windows 8.1 with the Hyper-V Manager Feature. Is this possible ? greetings, Martin

  7. I have several non-critical virtual servers that do not start automatically with our Hyper-V cluster that I want to start manually once I know all critical servers are back on line after a cluster reboot, but these do not show up in the list of VMs for each host on either the Android or PC app. I only see the 'running' VMs. Am I missing something in config of Pulseway Manager (v5.4.7) other than just enabling 'Monitor and Manage Hyper-V'? According to this page https://www.pulseway.com/hyperv I should see all VMs configured on a host, and be able to do lots of other things.

Hi, I've tried starting / stopping VMs from both the web app and the android app. In both cases I see e.g. Start command sent - but the VM never starts. Is there some permission setting I have failed to make ? Thanks

Maybe someone could help me out with this. I'm running Server 2008 R2 and Hyper V. I have enable Hyper V monitoring in the agent, but it's not showing up in any of the management apps, Android, Web-based, or the Dashboard. I'm probably missing something silly. Any ideas?

Can you please add a feature that allows you to save and restore a a saved VM? (I am not talking about checkpoints). On the Hyper-V server using Microsoft's Hype-V client I can save a current running VM. and start (restore) the VM too. On you current android app a saved VM is displayed as "Unknown" and there a no tasks that i can use. I am using Hyper-V on Server 2012 R2 Android app: 4.5.4 (A036)

Hi, Is it possible to get notifications if a hyper-v vm has frozen or stopped responding or has even turned off/shutdown? I don't want to install pc monitor on each vm if at all possible so was hoping this may be possible on the host. Thanks!

I've just started looking at this - and it looks great. Two small issues: 1) In the web browser I can't get the details for a particular VM - screen just hangs getting details (tried in Chrome and Firefox) 2) This does work on Android client - but is there a way to disable getting the desktop screenshot - it can be slow to load - and I don't really need to see a logon screen each time - and I'm guessing the bitmap image must be a signifcant proportion of the data Many Thanks
