Posted August 25, 20168 yr Hi, We have a network set up with security cameras and we'd like to use Pulseway to monitor the status of the cameras.  We thought about using the ping tool but we are worried ping a large number of devices every 5 seconds could have negative effects on the network and/or switch the devices are on. Does anyone know of a way to use SNMP for this?  I was going through the set up but couldnt figure out which OID to use. We are using the enterprise edition.  Thanks, ~ Chris
August 25, 20168 yr Administrators Hi Chris, Welcome to the Pulseway community. You'll need to download the MIB files form the device manufacturer's website then import them into a SNMP Browser (I recommend this one), navigate through the objects and see which variables you want to monitor. Once you've figured out which variables you'd like to monitor just copy and paste the OIDs into Pulseway and then configure the notification rules to notify you when those values exceed the normal values. -Paul
November 30, 20186 yr Hello, I would need a hand with this just to make sure I am getting this correctly. Where in Pulseway do I copy the OID's?
December 15, 20186 yr Administrators Here's a KB article that illustrates how to setup RAID monitoring through SNMP but it also shows how to enter OIDs in the Pulseway Manager:Â https://intercom.help/pulseway/features/snmp/how-to-configure-raid-monitoring-via-snmp. Let me know how it goes. -Paul
July 2, 20195 yr The KB article show the steps with the agent. Can we monitor network devices like routers and switches? where there the agents cannot be configured?Â
July 3, 20195 yr Staff Hi @Ali Syed, Yes, you can monitor network devices if the SNMP monitoring is supported on those devices. Pulseway will monitor your network devices from the Windows system using SNMP. The instructions how to configure it is the same as in that KB article. Just make sure that SNMP is enabled for network devices on the required network interfaces so Pulseway can access it.
July 19, 20195 yr Hello Chris, I was able to add the SNMP alert as you guided me but I am unable to determine what value should I set for a service. The service is ATPServiceStatus. I attached a snap and the MIB file.  ATP-SNMP-MIB.mib
July 24, 20195 yr Staff Hi @Ali Syed, Please open that file using MIB Oid browser and check all available values.
