I have a lot of file servers. In the rare case that I would need to reboot one remotely, it would be great if I could view what files are open and by who (through computer management/shared folders/open files) that way, I could do it all from my phone.

Serious a great idea to be able to monitor the antivirus. If out of date, or they have an alert of virus

Just learned about this application this week and love it so far. Would love to see support for DD-WRT routers, being able to monitor and make some config changes would be awesome.

Hi It would be great if it was possible to create rules on windows services resources For instance: If a service process is using 60% CPU or 2GB memory, kill the process and possibly restart it. Thanks, Marco

Typically, in a Remote Desktop hosting environment, we want to keep the per-user memory footprint as small as possible. 8 MB doesn't seem like much on a typical desktop or server, but on an RDSH, every byte counts, because RDSH capacity is generally determined by RAM. My understanding from another thread, here, is that PCMONTASK was added for the screen view feature, and that's all it's used for. Even at 8MB, this one task increases the memory footprint of an RDPINIT session here by about 50%, and is far larger than any of the other per-user "overhead" tasks we run here. By "overhead", I mean the mimimum background processes that are not what the user logs on in ord…

Ok, I know I've been requesting a lot .. lol but I love this software and can't help but think of things that would make my life easier as a network administrator while I'm using it... so please dont take my "wants" as a criticism... I would love some type of customized short cut page/tab.. Currently, to see my locked out users I have to navigate through 4 levels and same with VMWare and IIS stuff.. Do you think it would be possible to add the ability to "pin" or "bookmark" our favorite sections? For example, I would have the following on my "shortcut list" or "dashboard" if you will: - Active Directory Locked out Users (From DC2) - IIS Web Site (Default W…

Having a tray icon AND a taskbar icon is redundant. MUCH prefer a tray icon. I've added Dashboard to my Startup group to run minimized. Preference would be to have an option to launch on logon AS A TRAY ICON. Tray icon (get the theme here?<g>) should post a balloon as new notifications arrive. Tray icon should flash (or something) when a new notification comes in, and keep flashing until I've seen and dismissed it (not necessarily deleted it). Minor, and if it never changed it would be OK with me. But that stock traffic light icon has been around for at least 15 years! A desktop Gadget that summarizes system status and scrolls notifications would be cool. Great pr…

I'm a big believer in principle of least permissions. AD includes several built-in levels of administrative permissions, and allows creation of many more through Delegation and Group Policy. PC Monitor makes every user an uber-admin, because it runs as LocalSystem, one of the most powerful accounts in a system. I'm a one-man shop at this point, but hope for big growth when I'm in production. There will come a time, possibly fairly soon, where I will no longer be able to use PC Monitor because it does not allow me to properly secure the system. I'd like for PCM to impersonate users, and use AD to determine what they are permitted to do, which servers they're permi…

When creating a new Event Log Notification, typically I want the Notification to have a "Priority" that maps to its "Level". So, please make the Priority default to whatever is the highest Level of the checkboxes that are selected for the Notification, but still allow the user to select a Priority they prefer. By default, then: Error = Critical Warning = Elevated Information = Normal. Or Low. Not sure of the difference. What's the difference between Low and Normal in PCM Priorities?

Marius, I know you're thinking it's been too long since I last bugged you about pushing PCM configs via Group Policy. Please accept my apologies, and let's fix that now<g>. I've been thinking (always dangerous) that instead of ADM/ADMX, or home-brewed Group Policy Registry Preferences as I've proposed before, how about giving us a subfolder in %ProgramData% where we can drop XML exports. PCM will check the folder every 15 minutes and import them when it finds them, then delete them. Symantec Antivirus worked that way for years. We'd also have to have a way to delete monitored Events, Rules, etc. using the magic folder. Maybe export an XML file of the setting, …

I've found that my PC Monitor configuration changes tend to be retroactive. When something goes wrong with a machine, I think, "Sure wish I had a Notification set up for that." And that's when I do it. Currently, PC Monitor gives us a tool but it's up to us to make it useful. So we all have to reinvent the wheel. For example, in the Windows world, we all want to know when System/EventLog/6008 occurs (unexpected shutdown) but we might not think of creating a Notification until it happens. Many more are less universal, but would still have broad appeal. I'd like to see a PC Monitor Repository containing exports of useful PCM settings. User-submitted & MMSoft-submi…

Hello! I haven't found a way to do this. What I would love to see is the ability to mark the notifications as read/addressed in the console/iOS app, essentially resetting it to green without deleting the notification entirely, so that we can keep a log of the notifications.

Hello, I've been thinking these days about a way to know the latency between the host computer and the end device, this feature can be useful in identifying lag spikes and network functionality between a monitored server and mobile device's network (the one you're testing). This can be performed in a series of ping tests between the host and mobile's network. This can be troublesome if the router or firewal on mobile's end is blocking ICMP requests. Let me know what you think about it. This would be a great tool when you need to connect vpn clients in a new network to know how bad it will work . Paul.

an option in the dashboard for Teamviewer and VNC would be nice, just like the RDP connection now but two more options. vnc option could simple launch you vnc application (RealVNC, UltraVNC, TightVNC, etc...) with the IP field filled in. TeamViewer option would need to have some integration with your teamviewer account so it knows that system is accessible. same for Android would be nice as well...

Here are some feature requests I wanted to share, to see if you (the main Developer), or other users like. Hope these are inspiring. --Notifications to add: - Would it be possible to detect the difference between a Sleep and Hibernate (for a suspended state) I am pretty sure windows broadcasts a WM message, or sends it to some WndProcs or something similar to decypher the difference. - Under the users section, could you add: When a user locks the computer (and report the user name that locked it) When a user unlocks the computer (and report the user name that unlocked it) - Supporting the 12 hour clock would also be nice, since I am use to that, and its easi…

I just thought of another suggestion that would be very helpful. It would be great to have an option on the terminal window, to have it so that when cmd.exe is launched as a process on the client computer, then it is within the context of the currently logged on user (will probably need to do token impersonation of explorer.exe or some other hack-around). Another solution would be to have the NT service spawn as interactive (run under the token context of the current user/a specified user) Because the service is non-interactive, and is running under the NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM (which can also be see by running 'whoami' in the console - or something like Process Hacker …

I would like to be able to open up a port and then send a string to that port and compare the data that is returned, bad data or no data returned would put up a flag that the server is having issues. This would tell me that the application is working correctly. If you can do this and add in a way to run a SQL query against a MSSQL server and compare the results, I would buy this product in a heart beat! Thank you. Randy

I would like to suggest that a ticker gadget be made for Windows 7. I would love to monitor my systems, but dont want to take up alot of space on my screen. This would be great if it was scalable.
