Pulseway 9.14 🔥

Linux installation and configuration

  1. I am attempting to install pulseway on my raspberry pi 3b+, and have downloaded and installed the correct file from the pulseway website, and made sure that my openssl libraries are up to date and correctly setup. I followed through with the given installation instructions and repeatedly the pulseway service is unable to be started. When executing the command sudo systemctl start pulseway, the command works and presents no errors. Upon checking the app or the list of all services, however, pulseway is not shown as a service and there is no devices connected to the app. See the attached images for the output of sudo systemctl status pulseway

Hi Wondering if anyone has managed to get one of the UNIX/Linux agents to install on one of these NAS units? The RPM install looks like it should work but rpm errors with no gzip installed. Looks like it may need a custom agent package created in .APK to suit Asustor ADM v2 Cheers

I am running CentOS Linux release 7.4.1708 (Core) and have just installed the latest agent. The base config is done and it is visible in the console, but only to the master account (the one whose credentials are added to the config file). How do I make the system visible for all users so that they may all receive alerts and see the status of the box in the dashboard and mobile app? In Windows this is easy, but I see no way to do the same thing in the Linux config. Thanks.

  10. Hi, I have pulseway 6.5 installed on Ubuntu 20.04 My config.xml includes a section which tries to monitor some website responses (two servers on the same LAN). When I query these websites in the WebApp, the pulseway daemon on the server crashes hard and no data is returned. Is this a bug in pulsewayd or an error in my config ? many thanks

  11. I am running CentOS 6 and I can track most of my /etc/init.d services just fine - except for iptables. When the service is running, Pulseway reports that it is down. For example, these lines work just fine: <Service Name="ntpd" DisplayName="NTPD Service" IsDaemon="true" DaemonType="SYSVINIT" Path="" StartParameters="" CanBeStopped="true" Enabled="true"/> <Service Name="crond" DisplayName="Cron Daemon" IsDaemon="true" DaemonType="SYSVINIT" Path="" StartParameters="" CanBeStopped="true" Enabled="true"/> But this one does not <Service Name="iptables" DisplayName="iptables Service" IsDaemon="true" DaemonType="SYSVINIT" Path="" StartParameters="…

  15. Hello, I have just registered and configured two Linux-based systems (both openSUSE Leap 42.3) and have been able to receive notifications about system down/up events as well as notifications about services not being started. This works perfectly well. What received my attention is that: * Shutdown notifications are not being sent. I have found out on this forum that this may be caused by the event being sent after the network interface has been taken down, so I am just ignoring it. Nonetheless: can you confirm this behaviour? * Notifications about user login events are being sent correctly, whereas notifications about user logout events …

  17. Hi. I have a CentOS machine that I've been trying to get pulseway working on. I could not find anyone having the same problem. I have successfully installed pulseway, or at least the system thinks so. I edited the config file and removed the sample text from the name. However, when I attempt to start pulseway, the terminal gives me no indication of success or failure. However, when I check the systemctl logs, it claims that pulseway failed to start because of a missing file. I searched for the file, and it was indeed there. Can anyone help me with this? Here's what it says: "delta systemd[11600]: Failed at step EXEC spawning /usr/sbin/pulsewayd: No s…

  19. As requesed by support, I am posting my issues and configuration information. This is a newly setup and configured Slackware 14.1 64-bit server and it is fully patched. Interesting part is I get the same error/results when I tried the agent on a Slackware 13.37 32-bit server (I know not technically supported, but I was trying for testing purposes and I think it'll actually work...). The errors I see are similar to those posted by another forum member recently at this url: http://forum.pulseway.com/topic/1452-error-with-pulseway-agent/ Something to do with the use of SOAP, etc. Can't seem to register or get server cert... My config info as requested is below…

Hello. I am only extremely short with TestAccount at Pulseway. I hope I am just too stupid or have not found the info with my poor English. # Question Linux -> Performance Monitor? For Windows systems I see CPU, RAM, hard disk. With my Debian I don't see that. Agent is installed. Are there sample policies somewhere or what do I have to do? I hope this works. Thanks a lot, Lars

  21. Hello there, I was in the process of configuring my Pulseway agent on a VPS running Ubuntu Server 20.04 and I ran in this interesting bug. Even using the sample config provided by the agent, uncommenting the Ping Responses bloc throws this error in the log, and prevents the service from starting. vps pulseway: Starting Pulseway Daemon version 6.5 (2019082205) vps pulseway: Configuration: Values for 'Milliseconds' attribute at 'PingResponse' node 10.6.0.53(1) should be between 1 and 1000 vps systemd: pulseway.service: Main process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE The PingResponse bloc in /etc/pulseway/config.xml looks like this: <Ping…

More as an explatory experiment than a question for production, but is it possible to run Pulseway in an LXC container, for the purposes of it monitoring the host? It seems like a reasonable question for a container (as opposed to a VM). How does Pulseway monitor a system? Is it by using proc etc? These can be "passed" in from the host, so it might be possible.

My homeserver is running a pulseway agent and pihole (running dnsmasq) on debian testing. Pihole shows every 16 seconds a CNAME call of the homeserver to ws5.pulseway.com. All my other computers with a pulseway agent (Windows-10) don't call this much. My question is, how can I change my configuration to bring back the amount of calls.
