Andy Raybould Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Hi Is it possible to install the Pulseway manager without installing the agent. Would like to use the Manager on a laptop that doesn't need to be monitored, allowing me to change the config of agents on remote PCs.
Administrators Paul Posted August 30, 2017 Administrators Posted August 30, 2017 Hi Andy, A better option would be to use the Pulseway Dashboard (from the Downloads page, in the Desktop Apps tab) which can also change the configuration of remote PCs. -Paul
Andy Raybould Posted August 30, 2017 Author Posted August 30, 2017 Thank you Paul. Is there a way to use this when a computer is offline i.e. make changes that are applied when back online?
Administrators Paul Posted August 30, 2017 Administrators Posted August 30, 2017 Hi Andy, Unfortunately no, but you can use Pulseway Group Policies (see page 19 of the User Manual) however they are configured from the Pulseway Manager which brings us back to the original question. After you install the Pulseway agent on your computer, do not enter your credentials when Pulseway Manager pops up at the end of the installation and then open the command prompt as an administrator and type in this command: sc delete "PC Monitor" This will delete the Pulseway service registration and you will be able to use the Pulseway Manager without registering as a monitored system. -Paul
Andy Raybould Posted August 30, 2017 Author Posted August 30, 2017 Thanks Paul, that's brilliant. I will give it a go.
