This message is sent when the PC Monitor service starts - can you please check the event log on this?. We used to have an issue with a false notification when the update failed the first time but it was fixed in 2.6.

No, there is no config file or registry settings, it's a standard .msi package. It works fine for us and we've tested it on several different configurations. When you try to install the new .msi file and get to the location selection screen, what is the default location shown in that dialog?
-
New installation packages are now available from our web site for both PC Monitor (x84 and x64) and PC Monitor Dashboard (x86 and x64) - you will be prompted for the installation location now.

This can be implemented for mobile apps and web app. For the mobile app this needs to be optimized so the code is valid for 30 mins or so after the first use (the interval can be set on the server) otherwise it can be hard to use the app if you open it many times. We will surely consider adding this.
-
We will add this in a future release for sure.
-
It should install it Program Files - the next release will allow you to select the installation folder.

Thanks for letting us know, glad it works. It is closed now.

Hi, On the subscriptions you can have only one account but you can use it on multiple devices. If you need to set up multiple accounts this can be done with the Enterprise Server - you can manage the accounts and assign rights for each account. Typically you can have one or more monitoring accounts that you will use to monitor the computers and have user accounts that will be given access to those computers (full access or read only).

Did you had an old PC Monitor version installed? Check the event log for any clues here as the latest version does not send this notification even if the update failed.

XP - no automatic hibernation after installing PC monitor
Marius replied to ukasz Budzynowski's topic in Bugs
Is there anything in the Event Log? -
Using device authorization you can restrict certain devices from sending commands to the computers - and this applies to file browsing, terminal and screen viewing too - if a device is not authorized it won't be able to access these features. Please try it first. Multi-user scenarios are handled by the "Associated Account" feature in the Enterprise Server - you would typically use one (or more) monitoring accounts to set up the PC Monitor on the computers then create user accounts and "share" various computers to these users as full access or read only.
-
We will consider these requests in a future release.

Jeff, I do appreciate your posts and suggestions (surely there's no need for the noise). We are developing this solution and we are listening to all of them. We will add remote device authorization/deauthorization for multiple computers.
-
Can you please detail on "PC Monitor because it does not allow me to properly secure the system." and "PC Monitor makes every user an uber-admin"??? If a service runs as LocalSystem, does that makes every user an admin and stops you from "securing" the system? It's important to clarify this here as you are probably talking about a PC Monitor user and not a computer user. PC Monitor allows you to authorize devices on the account and it will reject commands from devices that are not authorized - making them read-only. As well, for Enterprise Server PC Monitor has Associated Accounts that allows you to "share" computers between accounts and set rights to read only / full access. In your case you only have one user - and if you decide to "share" your account username/password with other users/devices then it is you that "makes every user an uber-admin". Even in this case you can use device authorization to make the other devices read only.

Map "Priorities" to "Levels" by default
Marius replied to JeffVandervoort's topic in Feature Requests
Good idea, we will certainly implement it. -
XP - no automatic hibernation after installing PC monitor
Marius replied to ukasz Budzynowski's topic in Bugs
Are you monitoring the HDD space? Can you please turn that off and see if it makes a difference? -
This is already implemented - "Offline since..." label is displayed for the offline computer.

Hi, You can change the email address from the PC Monitor Manager on the PC - it's not yet implemented on Linux. (send me a message and I can help with this one). We made changes to the way the email address is validated, it should resolve the issue you were having. When you created the account we activated a trial subscription so you can test the server modules. After that subscription expires you can still monitor your computers, only the server modules won't be available anymore. Let me know if I can help. Regards, Marius

We will set some minimum sizes later on.

Map "Priorities" to "Levels" by default
Marius replied to JeffVandervoort's topic in Feature Requests
We plan to add a priority selection option for every single notification type. There's not much of a difference between Normal and Low. -
We haven't forgot about it, it's simply not ready for release just yet.
-
Indeed, it's the same touch as "Your computer is up and running" when the service starts We will add the ability to customize that message in the future...

Totally confusing, I agree. Glad you like it, "groping" it's a unique product feature As well, I hope you will like the auto-update feature.
