  1. Hello Joe,

PC Monitor doesn't support all hardware devices and it's constantly adding new ones. If there is nothing showed then it means that there is no supported hardware on that machine. This is normal behavior. Maybe issue a feature request asking for a label to be displayed that no supported hardware was found on the machine.

I am not aware of any possible workaround this problem, however if you said it's an old server maybe it's time to upgrade  .

    Paul.

  2. Hello,

The minimum subscription is for five computers because the free amount for non-comercial usage is five. You can't have only one licensed computer and four with non-comercial license, it doesn't make any sense. If you feel you need to contact a representative send an email to sales (at) mobilepcmonitor (dot) com .

  3. Yes. You cannot have a windows service interact with a user's sessions. Ask yourself the following questions:

    • On what user session the service should start the application?
    • What if there are multiple user's logged in?
    • Does a windows service really need to know about a user, afterall it's a service not an application.

You want to create a scheduled task that is set to impersonate a user and start an application. You will also want to set it's schedule to manual, then invoke it from the mobile app.

    Good luck.

  4. Note: This only works on OEM computers.

Why not build a plugin that gathers this information? This is fairly easy to achieve, if you want I can help you get started.

Also this should be in "Feature Requests".

I agree that tracking assets and warranties can be useful but I believe that this sort of a feature is not for everybody since not everybody has OEM computers.

  5. I believe that the Mac agent does not yet support subscription management. For this I think you will have to install the manager app on a Windows machine to do it.

Note: If you install PC Monitor on a computer and you don't start the service, you can use the Manager app to manage your account and subscription without using up a PC Monitor computer license.

  6. Well anyone with Windows machines is aware of this problem. If you find it annoying just disable windows update notifications on all machines but one so in this way you will know when Microsoft pushed updates to production and then you can issue group windows update commands.

  7. Hello  ,

Marius has explained how you can manage your computers and remove any extra installations using the PC Monitor Manager app in this post. If you only see six computers in that list too and keep receiving the over quota notification contact support (support at mobilepcmonitor dot com).

    Hope it helps.

  8. Help me understand this, Citrix rebuilds every day the machines from templates? Why? Isn't it possible to make it keep some registry values? You need to make sure that the ComputerIdentifier will not change.

Yes, I think that the service will change ComputerIdentifier if there is another computer with the same identifier.

So if you have all computers up and running, make sure that the next time they rebuild they will not overwrite the ComputerIdentifier registry value.

  9. Speaking of which I have a brilliant idea I must share: Azure Cloud Monitoring and Management. Technology changes and we must change too. People are moving their servers into the cloud so we should be able to monitor the cloud too.

Imagine the possibility of being notified if a virtual machine has reached it's limits or checking your usages right from your mobile phone.

  10. Hello,

If unlocker is not showing any locking handles then you have something else that's part of your operating system or applications. I use PC Monitor with Virtual Box on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and on Ubuntu 12.10 with no problems. I believe this is an isolated case. Can you reproduce the same problem on another machine?

    Paul.

  11. I think that Mobile PC Monitor is creating a normal Web Request to that web page just like any browser would do, however it seems that your website requires Windows Authentication (NTLM token) which is an Intranet setting of Internet Explorer. I am not sure how you can fix this but I will research this case on a virtual test lab and will let you know of the results.

I don't think this is supported by PC Monitor at this moment.
