wpatterson got a reaction from evenmosbek in Android WidgetWould also, love to see a widget to place on one of my android screens .. that way I could just slide over to it when I'm curious as to what's going on .. I'd love to be able to customize it to and be able to select what information to show. For example, I might do the following:
- Show active user count on my terminal server
- Show memory/cpu usage
- Items in queue on the exchange server
- Maybe even active calls on my asterisk server (I know that one is a stretch)

wpatterson reacted to NTE in Viewing open filesI have a lot of file servers. In the rare case that I would need to reboot one remotely, it would be great if I could view what files are open and by who (through computer management/shared folders/open files) that way, I could do it all from my phone.

wpatterson reacted to Marius in Event Log Filter / RandomThe notification will be fired if there is no other notification from the same event filter. This is to prevent getting too many notifications from the same event filter.
Please make sure you delete the previous notification and test again.

wpatterson reacted to Paul in Exchange Module MissingA subscription is not that bad, gives you extra computers plus gets you access to all features, including the vmware module that was just released in 2.6 . Think about how much time you save using PC Monitor, for me it's a great solution. It helped me a lot and it doesn't cost much, so in my opinion it's a win-win situation.

wpatterson reacted to Cptrico in Alarms should clear them selvesHi Marius,
One thing that I will find very very useful is if you are having the on duty call and beeing responsible for a huge server group, that the alarms received clear them selves when problem is solved. E.g CPU or memory is too high on the db server, 5 min later it is okay. A notification is sent and the escalation is removed from the list.
Best regards

wpatterson reacted to JeffVandervoort in AD integrationI'm a big believer in principle of least permissions. AD includes several built-in levels of administrative permissions, and allows creation of many more through Delegation and Group Policy.
PC Monitor makes every user an uber-admin, because it runs as LocalSystem, one of the most powerful accounts in a system.
I'm a one-man shop at this point, but hope for big growth when I'm in production. There will come a time, possibly fairly soon, where I will no longer be able to use PC Monitor because it does not allow me to properly secure the system.
I'd like for PCM to impersonate users, and use AD to determine what they are permitted to do, which servers they're permitted to control, etc.
This is a non-trivial request, and I'm sure it will take a while to get done. Hope PCM gets there by the time I need it!
(Now, watch Marius respond, "That will be in version 3.0, next week.")

wpatterson reacted to Paul in Windows 7 GadgetHello,
I was hoping someone will request something like this. On the roadmap there is announced that a public API will be avaiable in the future, this will allow anyone to create custom applications, services, and widgets that can comunicate with PC Monitor. Oh maybe there will be a bundled widget but for that you'll need to wait for an official answer.

wpatterson reacted to AustinKnight in Windows 7 GadgetI would like to suggest that a ticker gadget be made for Windows 7. I would love to monitor my systems, but dont want to take up alot of space on my screen. This would be great if it was scalable.
