Hello :) ,

Session Control allows you to view active sessions on Windows server machines and their associated files. No commands are currently implemented but I have in plan on adding a few like (Close sessions, List Shares, Delete Share).

Please take your time and read the 'readme.txt' file as it explains everything you need to know about installing, using the plugin.

My release is open-source bound by no license. That being said you can freely modify, distribute, claim as your work, sell and / or include in your copyrighted material as long as it doesn't breach Pulseway's license or terms and conditions.

Download Link: PaulCsiki.SessionControl.zip. (Version 1.3).

Changes Since 1.2

  • Added support for Windows Server 2012+

Changes Since 1.1

  • Fixed a bug where newer operating systems would not be recognized.
  • IP address that resolve to a hostname will now print out the hostname along with the IP address.

Any feedback and plugin ideas will be appreciated.

Hello,

I plan on updating most of my published plugins soon. The version itself was all I needed to understand the problem. Thanks.

Hi Paul,

the plugin working perfect on a Windows 2003 Server, but not on one of my 2008R Servers (with all MS patches) - any idea?

I've updated my first post with an updated version of the plugin.

Thank you again for the bug report,

Paul.

thank you Paul for your effort, but sorry, it does still not work. I check it on 2 2K8R2-Standard Server and on my NB with Windows 7 64Bit. No sessions or opened files be listed.

On the 2003 Server (32 Bit) no Problem.

Hello,

I've created another build. Check this one: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0g0oxy219gxv5q5/Release.zip .

Then try entering \\serverip\c$ and see if you see any opened session.

Paul.

Edit: I tested it on a Windows Server 2008R2 Standard x64 and it works.

For me, I can confirm running in Windows SBS 2011 + Windows 8 Std. Not got a R2 version to test on right now

Hi,

Nice idea with the plugin. I'm getting the "OS not supported" message too though. I'm running Server 2012 R2 (Version 6.3.9600).

Hi Paul,

Great work with this plugin but it isn't working with 2016:

Is there any possibility to update it, please?

Hi @Nuno Inacio,

I'll check it out and get back to you.

Edit: Can you send me the output of these powershell commands?

(gwmi -query 'SELECT ProductType FROM Win32_OperatingSystem').ProductType
[environment]::OSVersion.Version.Major

Thanks!

-Paul

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your fast reply!

I can confirm you that's an issue with all 2016

Here you are:

PS >(gwmi -query 'SELECT ProductType FROM Win32_OperatingSystem').ProductType
3
PS > [environment]::OSVersion.Version.Major
10

That's weird. Can you tell me what's the file version of the PaulCsiki.SessionControl.dll? I've just tested the plugin on a 2016 datacenter edition and it seems to be working. This was a problem fixed in the plugin version 1.3.

-Paul

You were completely right, it was version 1.2 (I've mixed them as the old one is still available and it was the 1st one I downloaded).

I've stoped the service, I've replaced and restarted but now its completely empty for sessions and opened files and I have a word working there...

This plugin shows active share sessions not user sessions. Try opening a shared drive and see if that shows anything.

I've misunderstood :

Thanks again for the quick help!
