Greg Candido Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 Can I install Pulseway on a Golden Image for Citrix XenDesktop for pool desktops? When I provision the image will I get new Pulseway agent for each machine I create? greg
Staff Chris Posted December 16, 2019 Staff Posted December 16, 2019 Hi @Greg Candido, Yes, if you will put the Pulseway agent on Golden Image and then delete the Computer identifier from it: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MMSOFT Design\PC Monitor\ComputerIdentifier Then every time when new system is installed using this image, new system will be registered with your Pulseway server. If you want to refurbish an old system, then you will need to retain the computer identifier. If the computer identifier will be changed, then that system will be registered as new monitored system.
Matt Weller Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 What if your VMs which use the gold image all spin up with different host names? I tried the method above and it did not work, the new system registered using using the source system host name. I feel there is a missing step here.
Administrators Paul Posted January 28, 2020 Administrators Posted January 28, 2020 Hi Matt, Make sure that the gold image doesn't have the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MMSOFT Design\PC Monitor\ComputerName registry value. This will pick up the hostname as the computer name at startup. -Paul JohnnyJoker 1
Michael Zipperer Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 I tried deleting the Computer Identifier but it keeps auto-creating a new one. I think I'm in the correct spot ill attach it to this post.
