rdizz Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I am getting this error on the latest release (2.8). I have tried restarting and reinstalls with no success. I have been using PC Monitor for almost a ~year and this has only started recently.
Marius Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Try enabling the diagnostic logging in Settings -> Diagnostics and start the service again. A trace.log file will be written in the installation folder, please email it to us.
rdizz Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 just tried that and it does not generate the .log file. im using win 7 64 bit.
Marius Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Uninstall the app, delete the installation folder (if still there) and remove the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\services\PC Monitor. Restart and try to install the app again.
Administrators Paul Posted January 5, 2012 Administrators Posted January 5, 2012 Also, is there any errors in the windows event log? Services that fail to start usually leave some marks in the system log.
IvanPavlinić Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 huh i have same error Event Type: Error Event Source: PC Monitor Event Category: None Event ID: 0 Date: 10.1.2012 Time: 20:32:56 User: N/A Computer: HOTJAY1 Description: Service cannot be started. Marius Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 have you cleared the install folder and reinstalled the app? A library is missing for some reason, a reinstall will fix this.
IvanPavlinić Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 ok i reinstall the app and for now everything is ok. i mess something with plugins, maybe that was the problem, i see new version 2.8.1. change log
Administrators Paul Posted January 11, 2012 Administrators Posted January 11, 2012 If you have a malfunctioning plugin PC Monitor will only stop loading it and release it from the memory, so any bad plugins cannot stop the functionality of the core application.
IvanPavlinić Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 hehe ok paul thanks for explanation, anyway i reinstall app on my pc and everything is ok. Paul 1
