mwgbr2012 Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Hi, we were glad to see the new function of monitoring and managing the Windows Server Backup. The "Validate Requirements and Settings" doesn't bring up an error, but when trying to use the function from an android smartphone the following message appears: "Die Benennung "Get-WBSummary" wurde nicht als Name eines Cmdlet, einer Funktion, einer Skriptdatei oder eines ausführbaren Programms erkannt [...]". https://www.dropbox.com/s/r66uzuyvbdmm2k8/Screenshot_2013-08-30-09-45-02.png Do you have any idea? Thanks in advance Robert
Administrators Paul Posted August 30, 2013 Administrators Posted August 30, 2013 Have you configured an account for Powershell Impersonation in PC Monitor Manager? Is the account part of the user group "Administrators" or "Backup Operators"?
mwgbr2012 Posted August 31, 2013 Author Posted August 31, 2013 Yes, the account is configured (Administrator) and part of the Backup Operators.
Administrators Paul Posted August 31, 2013 Administrators Posted August 31, 2013 Can you please retry to use the "Validate Requirements and Settings" button? Also what operating system version you have? (Tip: type winver in cmd) Paul.
mwgbr2012 Posted September 1, 2013 Author Posted September 1, 2013 It still works: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0bs7ilcnrxf5l2i/2013-09-01.PNG The server is a WindowsServer 2008 R2 Datacenter SP1, all updates installed (virtual server in an vmWare 5.1 environment). The flash version on the website only shows an "error": https://www.dropbox.com/s/yybajwg10jjrdqa/2013-09-01-1.PNG
mwgbr2012 Posted September 1, 2013 Author Posted September 1, 2013 After restarting the server it works. I couldn't do that within the week. On other systems it worked without restart. Thanks
Administrators Paul Posted September 1, 2013 Administrators Posted September 1, 2013 Thanks for sharing the solution. Microsoft technology remains the same, restart restart and restart . Glad it works now.
CFitz89 Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Having an issue trying to validate the requirements and settings It is throwing up an error "Powershell impersonation is not in Settings/Runtime
Marius Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 After you have set the PowerShell user and password press the Apply button in the Manager.
DrYou Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I'm using Windows Backups on a Server 2012 box and a Windows 7 box. I'm unable to use the Pulseway notification on both. I have the PS User Impersonation setup on both and saved settings without any errors. I've also rebooted, what am I missing.
Staff Chris Posted July 1, 2015 Staff Posted July 1, 2015 I'm using Windows Backups on a Server 2012 box and a Windows 7 box. I'm unable to use the Pulseway notification on both. Hi, Can you access the Windows Server Backup server module from any of the available Pulseway clients? Regards, Chris Pulseway Support
ClarkP Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 I think it's better to backup server only on Windows Server. Once putting backuponline(like your saying, dropbox, Cloud, etc), we can face hacker issues and losing data.
