Hi -

Since upgrading my laptop from 2.5 to 2.6.1 beta and then 2.6.2 beta, I'm finding my HP laptop's fan(s) are permanently stuck on full - even after a reboot

I've gone now gone back to 2.5 to see if this fixes it

I'll be surprised if it did... 2.6 beta adds support for VMware, fixes 2 issues and adds some improvements in the PC Monitor app - nothing changed in the engine.

Have you enabled the VMware server module?

tried everything I could think of, but couldn't get the fans to alter speed - eventually resorted to restoring from backup which fixed it

the restore downgraded me to 2.5 and the problem was fixed - I'm now up to 2.7.1 and the fan problem has not happened again

so I don't think the fan problem was related to pcm - just an unfortunate coincidence that it happened at the same time I updated pcm
