In one of oure servers when we launch the configurations manager everything is greyed out. I restarted the service  bu no luck we can manage it from another server jsut wondering what could have gone wrong.

This is normal behaviour when the configuration has been protected with a password. On the lower left side of the application you have a padlock that should say: "Click here to unlock the configuration" or something similar. You will be prompted to input a passcode.
