Tom_Hall
Hi - currently, if a pc's OS is trashed & the OS is re-installed (same hardware, same pc name), re-adding it to PC monitor does not overwrite the "dead" entry of the previous installation - is this something that could this be implemented at some stage please ? Administrators Marius Posted August 24, 2012 Administrators Share Posted August 24, 2012 If you reinstall the OS we won't be able to do that. You will have to remove the "dead" entry manually.
Tom_Hall
Hmmm - overwriting the old / dead entry seems (to me), to be a logical thing to do - could you elaborate on why this isn't possible ?
Administrators Marius Posted August 25, 2012 Administrators Share Posted August 25, 2012 On installation a unique identifier is generated for the computer. After reinstall the old identifier is lost - we do not identify the computer by name and group name.
