MattR Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Hi We're looking for a way to monitor our client UPS' using the PulseWay Monitor. They are all connected to customer's servers using either USB or network. Is there a way to use PulseWay to monitor these, and to then alert us if there's an issue / event? The UPS' are all APC based. I believe we can use the SNMP module to do this, but my testing so far has been unsuccessful. Thanks Matt
Administrators Paul Posted July 19, 2017 Administrators Posted July 19, 2017 Hi Matt, For the UPS devices that are network attached you should use SNMP to monitor their status (send me the model and I'll look up the MIB file for you) and for the ones that are USB attached you can try to use the APC UPS Daemon (http://www.apcupsd.org). -Paul
MattR Posted July 24, 2017 Author Posted July 24, 2017 Hi Paul Thanks for that. We'll look into that and come back to you. Cheers!
MattR Posted September 11, 2017 Author Posted September 11, 2017 Hi Paul Sorry for the delay. We have the following UPS: APC SMT 15001 Cheers Matt
Administrators Paul Posted December 5, 2017 Administrators Posted December 5, 2017 Hi @MattR, Check out this website: http://www.apc.com/ie/en/tools/download/index.cfm and search for the SFPMIB423 part number. You should be able to import the MIB files into an MIB Browser such as this: https://www.manageengine.com/products/mibbrowser-free-tool/download.html and from there you should be able to establish which OIDs you want to monitor in Pulseway and what are the possible values (so you can setup notifications). Here is an example on how to configure the SNMP server module in the Pulseway Windows agent: https://intercom.help/pulseway/agents/snmp/how-to-configure-the-raid-monitoring-via-snmp -Paul
