rc1ark Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I understand that I can get a notification if a server goes down, but I have a specific situation that I want to present to see if this will work. I have a server on a network that occasionally has issues. The issue is caused by our Internet provider and what happens is the network can reach the Internet, but no traffic comes in. Will I get notified of an issue in this case? Does PC Monitor rely fully on the data being sent from the client? Or does it attempt to connect to or ping the client from the outside ever?
Administrators Paul Posted March 28, 2014 Administrators Posted March 28, 2014 As far as I know PC Monitor servers will never try to connect to your computers. I would recommend you to setup monitoring of your public services exposed from that machine via ping, websites, certificates, snmp or any other method you may think might work.
