  1. Thanks Paul, very helpful. Do you also know the URL's that need to be whitelisted? The proxy I need to use only allows access to a specific list of URL's, so I'll need get the PC Monitor servers added to that list.
  2. Hi, can PC Monitor be used through a web proxy? Does it use the proxy settings configured in Windows, or will it try to send traffic directly to the PCM servers via the network gateway? We have a requirement to install behind a firewall on a network where web access is strictly controlled via a proxy server only. Thanks in advance for your advice.
  3. Erik_m - I believe my post here may solve your issue: http://forum.pulseway.com/topic/687-windows-8/
  4. Confirmed, to get WOL to work after shutting down Windows 8 you need to disable "fast startup" so the network adapter is armed for WOL at shutdown. Shutting down via the PC Monitor app or shutdown.exe /s mustn't perform "hybrid shutdown" so WOL works as normal. For info: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2776718
  5. Hi, From my testing it looks like WOL does work when you shut down via PC Monitor, or shutdown.exe /s. It doesn't however work when you shut down via the Windows charm menu. I've tested this with a variety of WOL apps so this isn't a PC Monitor bug - something about the way Windows shuts down in different scenarios. I suspect the following has something to do with it:http://http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2776718 This also explains why everything worked fine in Windows 7. I'll try turning off the "fast startup" option tonight and see if this makes any difference. Thanks.

    Windows 8

Hi, I posted earlier this week in the installation section, regarding WOL in Windows 8, but in hindsight actually believe it's a bug I'm reporting rather than an installation issue: http://forum.pulseway.com/topic/602-windows-8-wake-up-function/ Could someone review this please? It's quite a frustrating issue. Thanks in advance.
  7. I'm seeing a similar issue with Windows 8. I had PC Monitor running perfectly with Windows 7 including wake on LAN (from both internet and local network) - however since changing to Windows 8 I'm seeing some strange issues. Basically, if I "shut down" the PC via the PC Monitor app, wake on LAN works as expected. However, if I shut the computer down via the charm menu, wake on LAN does not work. Even stranger is that when I do this, the stats in the PC Monitor app appear not to update, so when the machine is powered back on, PC Monitor will show that the machine has been online the whole time when it has not. Is there some strange compatibility issue with Windows 8, or is this due to my computer configuration? At the moment I've taken to shutting down the PC via the PC Monitor app rather than the charm menu but this really shouldn't be necessary. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
