davidrysz Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Something keeps turning off my push and email notifications. I have again turned them on using the website and just checked my iphone and they are showing enabled. Why would they keep turning off?
Marius Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Do you see them off from time to time? Or you simply don't receive new notifications?
davidrysz Posted May 22, 2012 Author Posted May 22, 2012 Hi Marius, I just checked this morning and the settings are again off. If someone turns off push notifications on another mobile device does that turn off the settings for all mobile devices?
Marius Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Hi, You are right, the settings are global per account and not per device.
davidrysz Posted May 22, 2012 Author Posted May 22, 2012 Ahh that was it. The other person kept turning off the notifications. Thanks Marius.
cyabro Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I'm having something similar on my iPhone. I have push notifications turned on but they never appear on my iPhone. I've checked the settings for PC Monitor in the Notification Centre settings on the phone and they are all turned on as well. If I open PC Monitor on the iPhone I can see the notifications there, I'm just not getting prompted by the phone when they arrive. I'm running the latest version of PC Monitor - Installed last night
Marius Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 On the iPhone app please go to the settings tab and click Details. Are the push notifications enabled?
cyabro Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Yes they are. I tried turning it off and on again but made no difference. They used to work fine. Not sure when they stopped working.
Marius Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Just checked and it appears that you're push notifications are turned off. Open PC Monitor Manager on your PC and go to the "Account Details" to verify.
cyabro Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Done. Now what? I disabled, saved then re-enabled Push and saved again.
Marius Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Please email or PM me your user account just to confirm we're talking at the same account. Looking at the account that corresponds to your email address registered on this forum I can see that the push notifications are disabled. I will enable them now for you.
cyabro Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 No that'll be my free account for my home pc. I'm talking about our paid account. We are using the server managed by chillisoft in nz if that makes any difference?
Marius Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Thank you, got that. Once you register a device for one account it is removed from any other accounts as the multi-account is supported only by the Enterprise server.
cyabro Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 So how do I register my iPhone and iPad for the paid account? I thought I'd done that and purposely set the free account to email notifications so that I could still get notifications for my home pc.
Marius Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Once you sign in with the paid account the phone will automatically register with that account.
cyabro Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Just tested by stopping a monitored service on one of the servers and neither device got the notification pushed to it so no sounds or messages on the screen. I opened the pc monitor app on each device and the red notification is there so they are coming through.
Marius Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Have you changed your iPhone account to the paid one? Once you do that your phone will register for notifications for that account - at the moment it is not registered.
cyabro Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Yes iPhone and IPad have the paid account details in the pc monitor app. I pressed validate account on both as well and it was successful.
Marius Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 The iPhone is still not registered - you will need to exit the account settings for the device to register. Simply pressing the Validate button won't do it. You can check if the device has been registered using the PC Monitor Manager - press the "Registered Devices" button.
cyabro Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Is the iPad showing as registered as that isn't getting the push notifications either. Edit: Just checked and both the iPhone and iPad are showing as registered devices, with Push Notifications set to Yes and Status is Active for both.
Marius Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I've sent you an email - I think there's a confusion regarding accounts.
cyabro Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Just an update on this issue, it was a problem on the server that we are connecting to in New Zealand and they sorted the issue.
