  1. I'm reasonably new to PW. I've just on-boarded 50 endpoints, and it automatically monitors Automatic services. That great, but Services like Bio-metric and Remote Registry; whilst configured as automatic, aren't always started.. So constant notifications. I know how to remove the service monitor, but is there an easy way to exclude certain services from being monitored globally?
  2. Hi there, This is usability issue that leaves Pulseway's surveillance under high suspicion. We work exclusively in Windows servers. My colleague has installed last week a new Pulseway Agent over a server of a new client and he forgot to report this so that I could increase the number of licences resulting that since last week a Pulseway agent from another client's backup server stopped communicating and so we where not aware that backup needed troubleshooting. In fact the server disappeared from our servers As I understood the new Pulseway agent kicked out a random Agent already under surveillance and that means that a server that we had total confidence to be monitored was not. I'm new in the company and this software and when I've discussed this with my colleagues they've reported to be a known issue and that sometimes the Pulseway agent that stopped being monitored would varied meaning that one server randomly would stop being monitored and then the behaviour would jump to another agent. In the Billing/Overview section of your page it always had 72/72 and so no report of "overbooking". For this server's agent to show again in the panel I had to re-register it. IMO the new ones should stay offline and if this behaviour cannot be controlled, then the moment a client doesn't have licenses the agent shouldn't be able to register. We need to be sure that we can rely on the servers where Pulseway agent is installed and configured or we cannot trust the system altogether. Thank you for your attention.
  3. Is there a way to kick off an automated task based on a notification or alert. For Example, if we get a notification of a disk getting full, I would want the automation to run: <Open a ticket>--> <add predetermined note>--> <add 15 minutes>--><run task to clean drive>--><send notification that task has completed>--><close ticket> Is this possible now, or should this be a feature request? Thank you, dp
  4. I changed phones recently and the new app says: 'This device is pending approval. Login to the WebApp and approve it from the account devices page.' If I got to https://my.pulseway.com/main/account/devices there is no device to approve. Am I doing something wrong?
  5. Would love a way to silently install and run Dell command update utility to Dell endpoints to keep drivers up to date, as Dell are frequently rolling out driver updates. Has anyone been able to make this work for them? I've looked into it and found some sample scripts on reddit to try and edit and test. the problem I have is getting dell command update to install first, then getting the configuration file out to the required computers that need it, then running the update silently. If someone has managed to get this working, I would love to see how you did it, or kindly ask for some sample scripts to work with? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
  6. So just set up the network with all the computers added, But I keep getting this notification. "There was an error retrieving the notification." From an "Unknown System" anyone know what could be the cause? Thanks,
  7. Hi, I have configured and applied default storage notification policy to all my Windows workstations that is set to send a notification when the system partition has less than 5% with priority elevated. But all the notifications I get about storage say: The free space on disk drive C: on computer computername in group groupname - Office - Workstations' is below 15% (ex. 16.24 GB free of 118.18 GB). How can I make the applied policy to respect the right percentage specified in the group policy? Do
  8. I have one customer workstation (actually a laptop) that I cannot assign a patch policy. All of the other systems in this customer group are fine. When I try to assign it via my mobile, I get "change OS patch policy command failed". Nor can I assign it via the Pulseway Web app - it shows "no actions available" for that one system. I tried remotely restarting the laptop, and I tried repairing the local agent installation, but no joy. Any suggestions? Thanks! Bob
  9. Looking for a script that I can run to drop from XXX domain, set to "WORKGROUP" and reboot. I used to have this in a command line form that I can't find.

    Email Parser

It would be awesome if the email parser went a little deeper. Sometimes a client emails us directly and we forward that email to Pulseway to open a ticket. The problem with this is that it opens the ticket using our company as the client. It would be great if we could get the parser to look in the email headers to find the address that the email originated from and use THAT to assign and client and user to the ticket. There are other ticket systems that do this. Alternatively (though not as elegant), It would also work to put a flag in the subject line like "@CLIENTNAME" to get the email assigned to the client. Is there a way to do this with workflows?
  11. Hi Could someone assist in helping me to set up an alert when a network connection is dropped. This is happening at one of my client sites after changing to a new ISP. The ISP says the router/switch is fine but connections are dropping. I would like to be able to log when a connection drops (ideally knowing if the internet connection has dropped or just the internal network connection) I'm not sure a simple ping notification is good enouh in Pulseway to do this as I need to know if the connection has dropped for a few mseconds as well as larger outages. I guess the Event Viewer holds the answers but would appreciate it if anyone has done this before if they could share their thoughts. Thank you, Andy

    McAfee

Hi, Has anyone got some advice on monitoring McAfee please? We need a way to monitor to the AutoUpdate so it alerts us if this has not run. Previously we have a script that checks the registry of each server then sends an email with the information, however we would like to replace this with a Pulseway alert if out of date. I have searched the forum but the last post is from 2012 so i was hoping there is a solution to this. Also looked from registry/WMI queries but that seems to be for reporting rather than monitoring. Thanks.
  13. Our technical support AD credentials have changed passwords and now we are getting hundreds of machines trying to login with the configured AD account PowerShell User Impersonation credentials…locking the technician accounts. These machines are spread out at 19 separate locations and over 600 miles, at remote locations. How do we remotely modify the Runtime PowerShell user credentials on those machines? I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling, but it absorbs the previous configuration…including the former PowerShell User credentials….I also tried calling tech support but was sent to voicemail. Help! Local Setings where credentials were entered: Remote Settings, no ability to enter or modify PowerShell User:
  14. I added two switches to one of my Pulseway clients to monitor over SNMP. I added the agents in server modules > SNMP and then added the triggers in Notifications. I pulled a power cord on one of the switches and the alert tripped right away sending notifications to my phone and dashboard. I pulled a PSU cord on the other switch and no alerts. Looking at the values (3 is working correctly) I see the PSU value has changed to 5. Obviously out of tolerance but no alerts. I then recreated the variables for the agents seeing if something went wrong. Now the switch that didn't alert the first time alerts but the one that was working doesn't alert. Can someone shed some light on this? I included a screenshot to show that the SNMP portion is configured correctly and showing the values it should for alerts to be triggered.
  15. Here is a Batch script to empty the SoftwareDistribution Folder. It stops any installer processes in the background, temporarily disables the Windows Update Service, deletes everything in the Software Distribution folder then sets the Windows update service back to automatic and starts the service. @echo off CD C:\ taskkill /F /im setup.exe taskkill /F /im ose00000.exe taskkill /F /im msiexec.exe sc config wuauserv start= disabled net stop wuauserv PowerShell.exe Remove-Item C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\* -Force -Recurse sc config wuauserv start= demand net start wuauserv
  16. Please expand the list of programs on 3rd Party Patch management. Some suggestions: Adobe Flash Amazon Corretto (Since Oracle Java is not free anymore) Dropbox Gimp Google Gsync (GSuite) K-lite Codec LibreOffice OpenVPN Thunderbird WhatsApp Desktop Client
  17. Hi, I think it misses the ability to monitor bandwidth on servers and users computers. It would be nice to have a history of several weeks and the services used.
  18. Does anyone have an update script for making and removing snapshots in VMware? I would like to use it together with Windows update scripts to search and install updates.
  19. Hi, We have a network set up with security cameras and we'd like to use Pulseway to monitor the status of the cameras. We thought about using the ping tool but we are worried ping a large number of devices every 5 seconds could have negative effects on the network and/or switch the devices are on. Does anyone know of a way to use SNMP for this? I was going through the set up but couldnt figure out which OID to use. We are using the enterprise edition. Thanks, ~ Chris
  20. Hi Pulseway was setup by someone who has now left and I have installed the client upon multiple computers and servers which all appear within Pulseway manager / Manage systems and in the pulseway dashboard but none appear within the mobile app nor within the webapp. I have obviously missed something, but what? Answers on a postcard to the usual address...
  21. Not sure how many people use 3CX for their phone systems, but our company utilizes the system and have recently adopted Pulseway as well. As a result, I have developed a plugin for 3CX Windows Client that opens a ticket as you pick up the phone from an incoming call. I have included the source code for reference if anyone else has a need for it. Instructions: Create a new project. Select C# Language and create a new “Windows Class Library” project. Ensure that the project targets .NET Framework 4.5.1 Add a reference to the library “MyPhoneCRMIntegration.dll” installed with 3CXPhone for Windows (usually C:\ProgramData\3CXPhone for Windows\PhoneApp). Rename Class1.cs to PulsewayTicketPlugin.cs and replace the code with the following: using System; using System.IO; namespace _PulsewayTicketPlugin { [MyPhonePlugins.CRMPluginLoader] public class PulsewayTicketPlugin { // Initialization of Variables private static PulsewayTicketPlugin instance = null; // Holds the instance private MyPhonePlugins.IMyPhoneCallHandler callHandler = null; // Holds the handler private static MyPhonePlugins.CallState lastStatus = MyPhonePlugins.CallState.Undefined; // Holds the last relevant phone status // Called upon loading 3CX Client [MyPhonePlugins.CRMPluginInitializer] public static void Loader(MyPhonePlugins.IMyPhoneCallHandler callHandler) { // Create a new instance of the plugin instance = new PulsewayTicketPlugin(callHandler); } // Constructor for plugin, to add event handler private PulsewayTicketPlugin(MyPhonePlugins.IMyPhoneCallHandler callHandler) { this.callHandler = callHandler; // As the status of the call changes, process the changes callHandler.OnCallStatusChanged += new MyPhonePlugins.CallInfoHandler(callHandler_OnCallStatusChanged); } // Processes the status of the call private void callHandler_OnCallStatusChanged(object sender, MyPhonePlugins.CallStatus callInfo) { // Process the current state // - If it is ringing, a call is incoming, so we want to monitor it // - If it has ended, no longer need to monitor it (happens when we end it or someone else picks it up) // - Don't process other cases, not necessary switch (callInfo.State) { case MyPhonePlugins.CallState.Ended: { lastStatus = MyPhonePlugins.CallState.Undefined; break; }; case MyPhonePlugins.CallState.Ringing: { lastStatus = MyPhonePlugins.CallState.Ringing; break; }; default: { break; }; } // If the phone was ringing and we picked it up, open a new ticket if (lastStatus == MyPhonePlugins.CallState.Ringing && callInfo.State == MyPhonePlugins.CallState.Connected) { // Windows will automatically use the default application used to open URL's System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("https://psa.pulseway.com/MSP/TicketEdit.aspx"); } } } } Build the DLL and place it into the 3CX Phone Directory (C:\ProgramData\3CXPhone for Windows\PhoneApp). Edit the 3CX Phone Configuration file (C:\ProgramData\3CXPhone for Windows\PhoneApp\3CXWin8Phone.user.config) and add the following: <add key="CRMPlugin" value="CallNotifier,3CXPhoneTapiPlugin,PulsewayTicketPlugin"/> Reload your 3CX Windows Client and it should work with the next incoming call!
  22. I've seen some old posts about this and solutions in older versions that have since been removed. However, I don't see the settings or options in this iteration as of today. We monitor some generic services, ie Apache, and other proprietary services that are critical to our program running. At times they hiccup or run into an issue where they fail to start or stop. At this point we would want Pulseway to not only send a notification but also attempt to restart the service(s). Any way to accomplish this or any roadmap on getting that feature rolled in?
  23. I am curious to know why 3rd party patch mgmt. is an additional paid feature. Before I would get notified for like Adobe Reader needed an update, know I have to pay additional to get this notification? What else within the features we already get will be removed to a "module" that we have to pay additional for? I only oversee around 60 endpoints, so I am not a big player, but there are issues now that are making me look and trial other RMM solutions. Today I logged into my dash-panel as I do everyday M-F only to be greeted with 53 notifications for critical updates for Windows. Going into to the systems one by one, I quickly realized that something is not right. When viewing the systems, it clearly stated there were updates for Windows needed, but going to the actual systems available updates, I see "No updates found". Is Windows itself considered a 3rd party now? While writing this: 20 May 2019 08:45 1 critical update is available on computer 'REDACTED' in group 'REDACTED - Workstations'. Available Updates No Updates Found Last Checked: 20 May 2019 08:48
  24. Good day, Firstly I want to state that I am not familiar with this application and that this is the first time that I've worked with it so please go easy on me. So I need to setup Remote Access for one of our vendors. I created the account for him but when he tries to log in remotely it gives him an "unable to access remote server" error. Could someone point me in the right direction? With thanks
  25. Hi Everyone, As everyone knows Windows Updates are not bullet proof and they cause problems periodically with examples being flashing screens on logins for touch screen machines, lost audio abilities, files going missing and so on. The goal of this Topic is to provide a way for all the members of this forum to report issues with KB's either that they've experienced or that have been reported elsewhere thus allowing all those participating to determine if they want to adjust their global policies to hold off on a KB or make other changes. Your participation is greatly appreciated and I'm sure other tech's will be thankful for the information provided. If you need to look up a KB this link is useful: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Home.aspx Not confirmed, yet, but I believe this will show subsequent KB's related to a errant KB.
