I couldn't help to notice that you specified Remote Desktop connection links. Will it require to open rdp ports and use custom rdp ports for multiple machines in the same external network or it can traverse NAT on both ends?

PC Monitor Dashboard 2.7 beta 2 is available for download on the forum and it adds:

- auto-update
- computers grouping
- remote desktop connection settings

The iOS update has been submitted to Apple, should be available in a few days. As well, we hope to release an Android version with VMware support this week with Windows Phone 7 in the coming weeks.

I've been thinking these days about a way to know the latency between the host computer and the end device, this feature can be useful in identifying lag spikes and network functionality between a monitored server and mobile device's network (the one you're testing). This can be performed in a series of ping tests between the host and mobile's network. This can be troublesome if the router or firewal on mobile's end is blocking ICMP requests.

Let me know what you think about it. This would be a great tool when you need to connect vpn clients in a new network to know how bad it will work .

I myself am monitoring a proliant server too. I think it's possible to get controller's status using a simple S.M.A.R.T. query on the device itself, however this is not supported by PCM at this moment.

As for HP ILM it can be monitored because it has SNMP trapping features however this is not supported by PCM either.

As for ILO2 support it's a good feature, but I'm not sure if it would be a great success for PCM to add it because very few user have HP Proliant servers. I think it will only be possible once PCM has public API available and someone will make a third party addon for it.

As far as I know HP uses custom firmware with custom types of drivers for their equipment. PCM is all about generic features that can work on all types of clients not limited to the ones that have a specific brand. You can use PCM to get some stuff too if you find some custom apps that return or write the result in files then you use PCM to read those files.

PC Monitor Enterprise Server supports unlimited accounts allowing you to split the areas of responsibility within your team by allowing multiple monitoring accounts and the ability to "share" the monitored computers and notifications between the team members.

To enable this feature start PC Monitor app on the monitored computer and press the "Change Account Details" from the Accounts tab.
From the "Associated Accounts" tab you can share any computers with other accounts as read only or full access with or without notifications.
You can add multiple entries for the same account sharing a subset of computers as read only and another subset with full access.

We will add support for SMART in a future version.

We've added another field on the form used to pay for a subscription on our web page called "Referral Username".

For each new subscription of 10 or 25 we will add an extra computer to the referral account with 2 computers added for a 50 or 100 subscription.
This change will be reflected once the subscription is active and it will be permanent.

No personal user data is collected or stored on our servers. All the data required by the application (such as the state of the computer, services state, running processes) is stored temporarily in our servers with the sole intent of displaying this information on the mobile device and is removed automatically after the request is complete. None of your account details are shared with any third parties and no member of our staff has direct access to the account informations or any data stored.

The servers accept only secure connections from both client agents (Windows and Linux) as well as from the mobile applications (iOS, Android, Windows Phone 7) and Web Application therefore the communication is always encrypted.

We do not store on our servers any information that can allow someone to connect to your computers. Even more, our servers never contact your computers; simply stopping PC Monitor service will cause all the communication between our server and your computer to stop.

As well, we store just a salted hash of your password on our servers and we recommend you to use a strong password. After several invalid login attempts our servers will lock the username/IP address for some time too.

Dashboard is due for a makeover we want to be able to group computers by groups and many more... as well, we think an iPad Dashboard will look interesting (not very useful but interesting, we might add it into a future PC Monitor app release)

This currently is not fully supported. However you can deploy the .msi through Group Policy and then run a script to import the registry settings.

First export the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MMSOFT Design\PC Monitor key from a fully configured computer, remove ComputerIdentifier and ComputerName then import it on all the computers.
